Okay, so everyone knows that Star Wars is kind of a big deal. A HUGE deal for some. I actually have a very good friend who has a gorgeous Star Wars related tattoo. Yep. Star Wars is serious business, folks.

My husband and teen both love watching all of the Star Wars films. They even try to impersonate Yoda while swinging broomstick "light sabers" at each other. Hey, whatever works, I suppose!

My youngest kids, Sophie and Xander, love the Star Wars movies, but their favorite way to celebrate The Force? Well, they like Star Wars Rebels! This animated series airs on Disney XD, and is a HUGE hit among the 8-13 crowd. My kids, who are a little younger, absolutely love it, though. The animation is fabulous, and it's a great tie-in to all of the Star Wars adventures everyone knows and loves.

Before this series made its premiere, I actually attended a pre-launch press event in Hollywood, California to help celebrate! We got to eat a wonderful meal and chill with some Storm Troopers and other Star Wars characters.

We even got to hang out and chat with the lovely and talented Vanessa Marshall, who is the voice of Hera. See us below? She was nice enough to offer up a selfie with me!

Anyway, I got to learn a lot about all the work that goes into the creation of Star Wars Rebels, and I was thrilled that my kids decided it's one of their favorite shows, ever. Plus, it helped me get brownie points for being the Coolest Mom Ever since I got to meet some of the characters!

Haven't seen Star Wars Rebels? Maybe you're a Super-Fan? Good news! Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season One is now available on both Blu-Ray and DVD!

Here's more info, as well as a fun trailer that shows some great Star Wars Rebels action:

Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season One delivers all 15 action-packed episodes plus never-before-seen bonus material and cast/crew interviews revealing the magic behind the making of the hit series. Releasing on Blu-ray and DVD on September 1, this is a must-add collection to the library!

In the first groundbreaking season of Star Wars Rebels, young hero Ezra Bridger joins the clever but motley crew of the starship Ghost in their resistance against the Empire. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. Ezra and his new rebel friends -- Hera, Kanan, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper -- embark on daring adventures in their fight against oppression across the galaxy, receiving help from familiar heroes such as Lando Calrissian, Ahsoka Tano, and Jedi Master Yoda. Pursued relentlessly by the Imperials and a Jedi hunter called the Inquisitor, this tenacious ragtag band of rebels will find itself in the crosshairs of none other than Darth Vader when season one closes in a shocking two-part finale.

Star Wars Rebels is created by Dave Filoni (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”), Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “Sherlock Holmes”), and Carrie Beck. The Lucasfilm Animation production is also executive-produced by Filoni and Kinberg as well as Greg Weisman (“Gargoyles”).

Featuring the voices of Freddie Prinze Jr. (“I Know What You Did Last Summer”) as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall (TV’s “Young Justice”) as Hera, Steve Blum (“The Boxtrolls”) as Zeb, Tiya Sircar (“The Internship”) as Sabine, Taylor Gray (TV’s “Bucket and Skinner’s Epic Adventures”) as Ezra, David Oyelowo (“Selma”) as Agent Kallus and Jason Isaacs (“Harry Potter”) as the Inquisitor.

How awesome is that?!

We absolutely love having the complete first season in our DVD and Blu-Ray library. My kids really enjoy being able to watch all of their favorite episodes whenever they'd like. Sometimes over and over and over again.

There are also some action-packed Bonus Features that will thrill and delight. Here's a list of what bonus features are included in both the Blu-Ray and DVD releases:

  • Rebels Infiltrates Star Wars Celebration (Exclusive to Blu-ray)
  • Season One shorts: “The Machine in the Ghost,” “Art Attack,” “Entanglement,” “Property of Ezra Bridger”
  • All DVD Bonus (see below)
DVD:

  • Rebels Recon: 14 behind-the-scenes featurettes
  • Star Wars Rebels – The Ultimate Guide
  • Star Wars Rebels Season 2 – A Look Ahead

If you love Star Wars as much as we do, this is definitely worth picking up to add to your collection. Sure, this series is geared more towards older kids, but it's engaging enough that people of any age can enjoy it.

Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season One is available NOW wherever movies are sold.

You can also pick up your copy on Amazon.
