I love, love, LOVE being a Maytag Mom. As you may recall, the awesome folks at Maytag sent me an entire set of beautiful, super-modern stainless steel kitchen appliances a few months ago. They have made life SO much easier, and have definitely breathed new life into our majorly outdated kitchen. (We just bought a home that is nearly 100 years old!) However, I have to admit, our new appliances have not come without their challenges. Namely, keeping them clean! Sticky little fingerprints and smudges seem totally amplified on our stainless steel! And keeping the cooktop on our range clean? A total hassle. Every drop of baked on goop and even water stains seem to show up, making it look dirty even after being freshly scrubbed. Thankfully, when I was at "The Real Whirled House" in St. Joseph, Michigan, I was taught how to properly care for my gorgeous new appliances. A good part of this care involves using affresh cleaners. The beauty part? There are cleaners not only for my kitchen appliances, but to de-funkify my washing machine as well. (And anyone who has a front loading washing machine knows the funk I speak of, probably all too well!) So by using affresh, I can keep my kitchen appliances as well as my washing machine looking and smelling brand new. The awesome folks at affresh sent me an assortment of their products to try for myself. I received the Kitchen and Appliance Cleaner, the Stainless Steel Cleaner, the Cooktop Cleaner as well as the Washing Machine and Dishwasher Cleaner. My Opinion : I have to admit, I was skeptical about affresh products at first, especially the Stainless Steel Cleaner. I have bought other brands of stainless cleaner in the past, and they always seemed to leave a yucky residue and streaks behind. I was also curious about the cooktop cleaner. Any of you ladies with cooktop ranges know all too well that they're incredibly difficult to keep clean, no matter how much elbow grease you apply. Much to my delight, the affresh products worked wonders. The Stainless Steel Cleaner didn't leave anything behind and made my appliances look brand new. They even removed sticky, dried-on toddler fingerprints with very little scrubbing needed. The Kitchen and Appliance Cleaner works much like the Stainless Steel Cleaner, but can be used on any kitchen surface. You know that annoying, greasy film that tends to build up on small appliances, range hoods, and anything else near your cooking surfaces? Well this product makes it easily wipe away, without spending an hour scrubbing and soaking. The Cooktop Cleaner was equally amazing. My cooktop looks brand new, like it has never been cooked with before. However, I employed a trick I learned from one of Whirlpool's experts while I was in Michigan. Rather than just using the scrubbing pad, I used a razor blade to get stubborn, burnt on stains up. Yes, I know...Sounds pretty scary. But rest assured, this will not damage the finish of your cooktop, and will not remove any of the paint. (At least if you have a Maytag range like I do.If you have another brand of appliance, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer to make sure that this will be okay.) I also loved the Dishwasher and Disposal Cleaner. For some reason, my teen thinks it's okay to just dump whatever he feels like into the disposal. And he will load the dishwasher with huge chunks of food still on his plate. (FYI: There really is no need to pre-wash dishes and food particles being present is okay, but your entire meal shouldn't go into the dishwasher! I learned this at Whirlpool, too!) Allowing too much food to go through the dishwasher and disposal can cause a nasty smelling funk....A stench like death, to be exact. Using the Dishwasher and Disposal Cleaner eliminates this horrid smell and actually helps your appliances function better! The same can be said for the Washer Cleaner. We have front-loading machines, and they tend to get not only a gross, musty smell after awhile, but built-up residue, too. Using affresh Washer Cleaner takes care of this problem and leaves your washer and clothing smelling very fresh and clean. It even helps to reduce the amount of lint that shows up on your clothing and garments look brighter and cleaner. Don't believe me? Try it and be amazed by the difference! Overall, I am very impressed by affresh products. I learned about them while I got to see the behind the scenes action at Whirlpool, and now that I have been using them myself, I definitely see what all of the fuss is about! Now that I use affresh, I won't be buying lesser products anymore. How to Connect : Look for affresh products at a retailer near you. Including Best Buy, Lowe's, Sears, Walmart, Home Depot and more. You can also use their retail locator to find affresh products near you. You can also connect with affresh on Facebook and Pinterest. Enter to WIN ! I am thrilled to announce that one lucky reader will receive the entire line of affresh products to try for themselves.

I learned a long time ago that if you keep up weekly with the harder cleaning jobs it's easier in the long run. Shower tiles, range tops, toilets. They will never be happy events in cleaning but they will be easier then if you let it go and the dirt builds up.

I like the tip about junk mail. I tend to let it pile up before it hits the recycling bin. It's much easier to tear off name, add...and take it out. For any catalog with an order form. Shred the form before setting it out.
