WARNING: I am going to be talking about Aunt Flo..Menstruation..Or more commonly called, periods. I know this subject can make people queasy and is considered taboo in polite conversation. But let's face it, ladies: It happens to ALL of us. So when I find a product that makes the hassle of that monthly friend a little easier to cope with, I feel it's my duty to share! Okay...Now that I've warned you...Let's talk about periods. They're different for everyone, but we all experience them. My periods have always been very regular, and were rather typical as far as flow and duration. Until after my last child was born, and I got my tubes tied. (Something I totally and completely regret, but that's a different post entirely!) After getting a tubal-ligation, my periods have been absolute Hell to deal with. They have been lasting longer than normal, and to put it politely, I have been bleeding like a stuck pig. I even get anemic around that time of the month and bruise really easily. Not to mention the mood swings, extreme cramping, and cravings for red meat. While all of that is completely awful, I have to say the worst change has been the bleeding. I was literally soaking through a super-absorbency tampon in less than an hour...So I ended up switching to a reusable menstrual cup. But while that was an improvement, I noticed it leaked quite a bit at times, and cleaning it was pretty gross. So when I learned about Softcup, I was definitely intrigued. Yeah, I know...It looks a little intimidating...A cup that you stick you-know-where? With no strings? Change can be scary, so I'd love to tell you a bit more about Softcup and why it's such a fantastic alternative to tampons and pads.
I have been using Softcup for months, and I have to admit, it has totally changed the way I view my period. I feel fresher, cleaner, and these babies do not leak! I also love that I can be intimate with my husband without having a big, nasty mess to deal with. (Come on...I can't be the only one to have intercourse during "that time", can I?) Softcup is also economical. Each box contains 14 (or more, depending on the box) Softcups. Since you will only need to use 2 each day, this generally means one box will last your entire period at costs comparable to tampons. But with Softcup, there is far less waste, no risk of infections, and no gross odor. And they're comfortable enough that you won't even know they're there! Try it! I am 99.99999% sure you'll be pleasantly surprised! HOW TO CONNECT : You can check out Softcup on their website. You can also connect with them on Facebook and on twitter to stay on top of their latest products and promotions! WIN IT ! I am thrilled to announce that 3 lucky readers will each receive a 14-count box of Softcups to try for themselves! How cool is that?! Simply enter using the easy Rafflecopter form below! I have been thinking about trying out a menstrual cup for a while now. I think the softcup would be a great way for me to try it out without having to clean at first. I already use mama cloth so cleaning wouldn't be so bad with a reusable one, but I like to ease myself into big changes like this.

I havent tried any reusable products, or long lasting products like this before. I too had a tubal and have had the same issues you have. It totally sucks and Ive been looking for an alternative to bleeding through a super plus tampon AND pad every hour.

I've never used Softcup but I do have the Diva Cup (and love it). However, I do like the idea of being able to have sex with the softcup!

I use a menstrual cup and reusable mama cloth. I have been wanting to try these along with the Diva and Lunette cups because I'm not all that happy with the one I am using but it works! :-)
