![]() I have a confession to make. Okay, not so much a confession, per- se, just something I do not care to admit. I am 30 years old. (Shhh! Again, not something I like to think about!) Thankfully, I am told all the time that I don't look my age. People are sometimes thrown off by the fact that I have a son in middle school. It's incredibly flattering to hear that I don't look Sex In The City "old". I guess I can postpone those Botox injections for another few years still, because this face does not have a wrinkle to be found. (Hallelujah!) Why do I look relatively young for someone who, according to said middle school student, is "halfway over the hill"? Good skin care! Ever since I turned 18, I have taken proper skin care quite seriously. I do not tan, unless it's a realistic looking fake-bake, I stay out of the sun as much as possible without proper protection, and I get plenty of rest. Okay, as much rest as my preteen and 2 toddlers will allow. I have used good moisturizers with SPF, a night-time moisturizer, gentle cleansers, and various serums, all in the name of keeping a youthful appearance as long as humanly possible. Is this vanity? I don't think so. I like to call it preventative maintenance. After all, we only have one face, and it makes perfect sense to start taking care of it before the damage caused by aging sets in. While I have a whole arsenal of skincare products, one thing I hadn't tried until recently was a peel. The whole concept of a peel always seemed more than a little bit intimidating to me, and I have heard horror stories about women experiencing red, burning skin from peels that weren't so gentle. So when I received the opportunity to review the Exuviance Daily Antioxidant Peel CA10 made by the folks at NeoStrata, I was excited but a little bit nervous. However, I am already a fan of this company and have had fantastic results with their Foaming Glycolic Wash AHA 20, so I decided to give the peel a shot! The reason I was so willing to finally try the oh-so-scary peel was because the Exuviance Daily Antioxidant Peel is made from a 10% Citric Acid solution, which is much more gentle than traditional chemical peels. As a matter of fact, this peel is so gentle that even those with sensitive skin can use it! This peel exfoliates and neutralizes free radicals to help prevent signs of aging, and has even been shown to help even out skin tone. In addition to the revolutionary formulation, there is no risk of over-exfoliating and there is no downtime. That's right, ladies: NO DOWNTIME. The Exuviance Daily Antioxidant Peel CA10 comes as a 2-part system. There is a bottle with the solution and a pretty little jar with the textured pads. Once you're ready to begin this treatment, all you need to do is open the bottle and pour the entire contents slowly into the jar, over the pads. These pads do not require rinsing or neutralizing, ever. Voila! Instant peel! Preparing my skin for the peel was easy. I just did what I always do in the morning! I got up and washed my face! Once my skin was freshly cleansed, I was ready to try the Exuviance Daily Antioxidant Peel! I simply took one of the pre-saturated pads from the jar and rubbed it over my skin, paying extra attention to areas that need the most help, like my forehead. While I have no wrinkles, I do have one itty-bitty, super-annoying forehead line that no one seems to see but me. I HATE this line, and want to eradicate it.
I noticed the product going to work almost immediately. Like any peel, this did produce a slight tingling sensation. However, this dissipated within about 30 seconds and was not at all painful. I noticed right away that my skin seemed to feel tighter, almost as if were being lifted. It was a very pleasant feeling, and it assured me that the product was doing its job. What was left on the pad after treating my face and neck, I used on my hands! Hands age, too, so why not?! This product requires no rinsing whatsoever, and once you're done, you're ready for your normal moisturizer or serum, if desired. It is recommended that after beginning a peel regimen, you use proper SPF and/or avoid prolonged exposure to the sun for the first week. The Exuviance Daily Antioxidant Peel can be used daily, or used twice a week, depending on your skin's sensitivity and needs. Overall, I am loving this product. I have used it several times now, and I have noticed a difference in the way my skin looks and feels. The peel is incredibly refreshing feeling, and is so easy to use. It's virtually fool-proof! And the benefits? Amazing! My skin tone is more even, my face is left baby-soft after every use, and I have noticed more firmness and radiance. Make-up even goes on more smoothly after using this peel! And my annoying forehead line? Well, it is almost completely invisible after using the peel! The folks at NeoStrata have done it again! I didn't think it could get much better than their Foaming Glycolic Wash, but I was wrong. The Daily Antioxidant Peel has blown me away completely! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants fast, noticeable improvement in their skin's feel, appearance, and texture. And since NeoStrata's products are carefully created by dermatologists, you know you're getting only the best products on the market. Try it! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
