![]() You may recall a few days ago, I introduced you all to Trouble, the newest addition to our family. Trouble is a female Yorkie, and was born on December 30th, just one day before my Sophie. (Yep, Sophia is a New Year's Eve baby. I am sooo not looking forward to her birthday celebration plans when she's a teenager!) I have wanted a puppy, a Yorkie specifically, for over 5 years now. I have to get the little "designer dogs" due to horrible pet allergies that can leave me hospitalized in about 2.4 seconds. Yes, they're really that bad! So last Saturday, we went to a local pet store to check out their available dogs. There were so many adorable puppies to choose from, but as soon as I saw my Trouble, my heart about melted. She is sweet, playful, and has the most awesome little white poof on the top of her head. I have a weird thing for dogs with added character, and I knew this would be the perfect pup for our family. While I know that adopting a pup from a shelter or rescue is ideal, at this point in time, that wasn't an option. There weren't any hypoallergenic dogs that were good both with kids and other pets available. The pet store we dealt with has a wonderful reputation, only deals with top breeders, and provides micro-chipping and extensive health and lineage records on their animals. So we paid a whopping $1,000 for our Yorkie and brought her home with us. In our opinion, that's a small price to pay for a lifelong companion. But, when dealing with a new puppy, there are things that present major challenges. Things like housebreaking, chewing, and the inevitable accidents. There are a great number of pet care products on the market, so how do you know the right ones to choose? I have tried several different pet care products over the years, and one brand I really like is Simple Solution. They offer a wide variety of products that are specially formulated to address all of the common pet-care challenges. Whether you have a dog or a cat, Simple Solution has an assortment of products to suit your needs. More about those in a moment...First, I want to share something that's a whole lot of fun! The folks at Simple Solution know that having a pet can be full of laughs, as well as occasional frustration. They have recently released some hilarious viral videos that are a spoof on all of the insanely popular "The Real Housewives Of..." series. In these TV shows, you generally see some pretty snooty, high maintenance wives who have to have everything their way. There is always a ton of drama, and it makes me grateful for my own lack-luster and admittedly ordinary life. In the Simple Solution series, "Pet Owners of K9 County", you will meet some very colorful, highly spoiled women and their equally pampered pets. Take a look at these fun installments of this series! ![]() I can totally picture my little diva, Sophia, and her sidekick, Trouble in one of these installments. My daughter is a princess, through and through, and has to get her way all the time. Trouble is a spry, mischievous little pup that loves to chew everything in sight. No matter what she does (or destroys), she is simply too adorable to get angry at for any real length of time. I guess my daughter and my puppy have a lot in common. Maybe that's why they became such fast friends! Since Trouble lives up to her name, I have been looking at a lot of Simple Solution products to make having a new puppy a whole lot less painful for my family. Okay, that's an exaggeration. The puppy is an absolute joy...Her messes are what's painful! Here are a few of the products from Simple Solution that caught my eye. The best part? Simple Solution pet care products are available at Walmart, and sell for Walmart's incredibly low prices! That's music to my ears! After spending $1,000 on a puppy, I need to save money wherever I can! ![]() Who knew there was an eco-friendly puppy pad?! As an eco-conscious consumer, I applaud Simple Solution for finding a potty-training method that's gentler on the environment. Here are some fun facts about this product:
![]() And to keep your puppy pads from getting shredded, which I have had to deal with not once, not twice, but three times in the past 48 hours alone, Simple Solution has a great pet pad holder! I need to buy 2 or 3 of these to save my own sanity! The Simple Solution Training Pad Holder:
![]() Even with multiple puppy pads and the best of intentions, accidents can and do happen. This can create an ongoing problem, not only ruining furniture and carpet, but pets also tend to "go" in the same area over and over again. Simple Solution has a "simple solution" for pee-pee puddles! The Simple Solution Urine Destroyer:
![]() Simple Solution even has a great Puppy Aid Training Spray to help encourage pups like my Trouble to go potty in the right places, rather than on the couch, carpet, toddler playmats, or kitchen floor. The Simple Solution Puppy Aid Training Spray:
![]() And to help clean up all the unpleasant messes, try Simple Solution Oxygen-Activated Extreme Carpet Shampoo! Check out my review HERE. The Simple Solution Oxygen-Activated Extreme Carpet Shampoo:
Don't these products look amazing?! I know I will be stocking up on these as we adapt to life with our new puppy, and she adapts to life outside of the pet store! Having a pet is a wonderful way to enhance any family, and is a great way to help your children form strong, loving bonds and create lasting childhood memories. Simple Solution can help make the experience of pet-parenting a less messy, more rewarding experience! HOW TO CONNECT: You can check out the awesomeness that is Simple Solution on their website. Simple Solution products are available at Walmart for super-low Walmart prices, as well as at specialty pet stores! Check out their handy retail locator to find these products near you! You can also follow Simple Solution on Facebook, on twitter, and on YouTube! Be sure to keep your eyes open for new installments of their Pet Owners of K9 County series! WIN IT! I am thrilled to announce that one very lucky reader will receive a Simple Solution Puppy Kit! Included in this kit are Training Pads, Triple Oxy Power Stain and Odor Remover, a Washable Training Pad, and Pick Up Bags and Dispenser! How cool is that!?

Oh man, the worst was when my puppy got into the bathroom trash, dragged it all over the house, ate part of it and then pooped on it! Ugh!

My worst would be when my daughter spent most of a day here and our dog starting pulling nasty baby diapers out of the trash across the floor.

Thankfully we haven't had a horrific mess here - just the occasional turds in the family room or pee on the carpet. Two of our cats, though, had upset stomachs at the same time and finding half-digested cat food all over the house was not fun.

The messiest moment was when I got back from school and saw that Dumpling (a 16 lb. shih tzu mix) had knocked the kitchen trash can over, dragged the trash bag into the living room and ravaged through it, spreading the garbage all over the kitchen/living room.

the dang diarrhea in the hall in the middle of the night, and you only find out when you step in it on your way to the bathroom.

One of our cats can't eat dried kibble, but the others can - we try to keep him out of the kibble... but it never works. Let's just say we've cleaned up kitty puke just about everywhere in our home at this point!

Our second rescue pup ate through the wall- baseboard, sheetrock and insulation. Yeah, that was fun. I realize you probably wanted the "accidents" but those can be cleaned easily enough with the right tools.

worst was when our cat Boots had diarrhea.. she was like a garden sprinkler, spraying it all over my kitchen. I'm not kidding it was all over the walls, cabinets, floor. and it hardened to a concrete- like consistency before i could clean it all .

My messiest experience as a pet owner is when my puppy had toilet paper all over the house when I got home from taking my daughter to school. It was shreded everywhere in little pieces too.

Had a dog that would always go pee in the laundry room, even though there was a doggie door. No matter what we tried, we couldn't break her of the habit. UGH.
