I have a confession to make: I have a zoo. Okay. A miniature, majorly scaled-down version of a zoo. No, I am not an animal hoarder, but we do have 3 puppies and a cat. We also have 2 toddlers and a teenager in the house, and sometimes they act like animals in their own right.

So with a household full of pets and kids, messes happen. Sometimes there may be an accident, usually on the carpet or wood floor, and sometimes, tummies get sick or fur balls come up. This is the dark side of having fur-babies, I suppose. It seems like there is always some sort of mess to clean up!

Sadly, my pets are smart and never make a full confession when they make their mystery messes. But here are my usual suspects. Yes, they're cute, but don't let that fool you! These are some mess-making masterminds here.

The Usual Suspects :

See, I told you they were cute! So no matter how big their messes may be, we love them anyway. We just clean it up and try and correct the behavior. Pets, like kids, learn from constant repetition and praising for good behavior. It's a process, but I admit, with 3 puppies, it can get overwhelming at times. (The cat is the best behaved of the bunch!)

One concern I have always had when dealing with pet messes is the chemicals used in the cleaning products. Are they safe? Do they expose my family to toxic chemicals? Are they environmentally-friendly? From what I have found, sometimes the ingredients in these products are scarier than the messes they're tackling!

The (Simple) Solution :

Much to my delight (and relief!) one of my favorite pet care companies, Simple Solution, has just launched a line of safe, environmentally-friendly cleaning and pet products. The Eco-Care line is wonderfully effective at even the most stubborn messes, but they're also completely safe to use. The formulas are biodegradable, and they're made from sustainable, renewable ingredients that don't have negative impact on the environment.
Picture
I recently received several of these products to test out in my own home, and I couldn't be more delighted with the results. Here's a bit about each product.

STAIN+ODOR REMOVER:
This product is amazing when it comes to cleaning up pet soils. The Simple Solution Pro-Bacteria and enzyme formula work together to naturally and effectively eliminate stains and odors. This product actually neutralizes the odors rather than just mask them, which also helps to curb repeat soiling. Hey, the suspects can't return to the scene of the crime if they can't sniff it out anymore!

YARD ODOR AWAY! :
Okay, so admittedly, I have not been able to try this product yet. Here in Ohio, we're covered by a blanket of snow, so it doesn't make sense to use this right now. But this product is super-concentrated and treats up to 25,000 square feet of outdoor living space! This removes stain and odors from rocks, concrete, soil, patio furniture, and more! I will definitely be using this once our deep freeze is over and we start enjoying more time on our deck and in the yard.

TRAINING AID:
Okay, so this is a house-training must have. This spray mimics the pheromones that trigger a dog's urge to urinate. You can spray it directly onto puppy pads, and your dogs will be attracted to use them instead of the carpet, floor or furniture. When used as recommended, this aid can greatly reduce the time it takes to house-train your pets!

TRAINING PADS:
The Simple Solution Eco-Care Training Pads are an eco-friendly alternative to traditional training pads. These are made from 85% recycled materials, and contain a powerful attractant to encourage your pets to use them. They also have great odor control so if a pet uses one pad more than a single time, your house won't reek of a toilet. (BIG brownie points there!) I like to use mine in conjunction with the Training Aid.

MULTI-SURFACE CLEANER:
Okay, so this product is for far more than cleaning pet messes. It can be used on virtually any surface in your home! From glass to stainless steel, or even porcelain and laminate, this product cleans and deodorizes all of your household surfaces. You can even use it on glass! The thing I love the most is that this cleaner is super-effective. I have used it in the kitchen and bathroom, and it makes quick work of tough grease and soap scum. Plus, it's eco-friendly and safe for my family. Love it!

I would definitely recommend Simple Solution Eco-Care products for eco-conscious pet lovers. These products really work, and they help reduce your carbon footprint.

my springer just got over pancreatitis - he's never been so sick - 5 days of emergency room and vet visits, 10 shots, IV's and countless clean ups on the carpet of every body fluid yuck! thankfully we have a heavy duty rug cleaner. Poor guy is finally feeling better.

We had to leave our little dog for awhile a few days when my daughter was sick. We left her out instead of in her kennel and she kept peeing in this one area.

Seriously? You're weird. I bet your baby has pooped in the kitchen. Is that "completely gross and unacceptable," or is it precious because that's your baby? Idiot.

It wasn't caused by my animals but rather my brother with the mess the dog had made that was in a nice little pile and would have been easy to clean up! My brother thought it would be funny to see what happens when dog poop hits a fan....I'll let you imagine what it does! LOL It wasn't pretty to clean up!

My worst pet clean up was: My ferret would always go into the cats liter box to do her thing so I was excited (we found her on the side of the road) that she was liter trained. I got her her own liter thing that went into the corner of her cage, filled it with cat liter. She went down to do her thing and she just started to scratch at it and it went flying every where. I took out the spray bottle of water and started spraying her (Mind you this liter was the scoopable liter likes to clump up) So I had her to clean and all of her cage and the floor! So now she just goes on newspaper.

We had to go out of town for a day and a half and my dog stays inside and uses the litterbox to do her business. So we put enough food out to take care of that an the litterbox took care of the other. We thought everything would be fine. When we got back she had got into the bathroom and we had toilet paper strewn from one end of the house to the other. I guess her way of saying I'll show you guys leaving me overnight.

this is not so much the worse mess, but a mess that really made me mad, when my dog was living she use to sleep with me, well when the grandbabies came up to stay the night, she would get jealous of the attention I was giving to them and she would wet the bed and she only done this when they were here, of course that costed her, she was put in a bed on the floor for good
