***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** My preschoolers love hands-on activities. They love to create and explore the world around them, and if they can get a little messy? Well, apparently that's even better in their eyes. One of their favorite ways to engage in creative play is to use Play-Doh to make different shapes, figures, and even vehicles. They have tons of fun, all while using their imaginations and developing their fine motor skills. Recently, I discovered a wonderful line-up of Play-Doh books from Silver Dolphin Books that encourage hands-on learning through play. Of course learning is always more fun for kids when it's disguised as playtime! These books offer children new ways to explore things like jungle and aquatic life, vehicles, and even life on the farm. They're geared towards younger children, but my husband and I have been enjoying shaping fun Play-Doh creatures, too! Silver Dolphin Books recently released three new series of Play-Doh books, including:
our thoughts : Sophie and Xander couldn't wait to get their hands on these books! They love reading anyway, but when they saw the brightly colored Play-Doh canisters that came along with them, they squealed with delight. Hmm... I wonder if I give my teenager Play-Doh along with his high-school textbooks, he will suddenly become more interested in his studies? I'm sure that's just wishful thinking. Anyway, before we got our hands into the Play-Doh, the kids wanted to check out the Sound Series. They loved seeing the school bus go through town, and of course, pressing the button to hear the music. They sang and danced, and had a good old time. They're a little jealous of their big brother now, since he gets to ride a bus to school every day! The next thing they wanted to do was create fun marine life with their Play-Doh. Luckily, the Play-Doh Hands On Learning: Under the Sea book offers easy to understand, step-by-step instructions on how to make several colorful sea creatures, like an octopus, sea star and more. Now my little ones are only 3 and 4 years old, so I didn't think they'd be able to create anything too impressive. Boy, was I wrong! Sophie and Xander worked together to create this vibrant sea star! Sophie made the body while Xander applied the spots. Pretty impressive, if I do say so myself! I love it when my kids choose to work together as a team. It sure beats trying to kill each other every chance they get! We had an absolute blast learning about different creatures and creating them using Play-Doh. Just look at the smile on Xander's face! He was so proud of himself for helping to create their beautiful sea star. Overall, I am definitely very impressed with the Play-Doh books from Silver Dolphin Books. These board-books are incredibly durable, brightly colored, and offer young children a myriad of ways to explore the world around them. And they get to play with mushy, squeezable Play-Doh. It just doesn't get much better than that! How to Connect : You can check out these and other great children's titles at Silver Dolphin Books. You can also connect with them on Facebook and on twitter to stay on top of their latest products and promotions! Enter to WIN : I am thrilled to announce that one lucky reader will receive the same Play-Doh books I received! That's 7 fun-filled titles!
