![]() Some of you may recall my praise for Silk Soy, Coconut, and Almond Milks. I always keep a supply at home, for a few reasons. First, my husband ONLY drinks whole milk...Which I do not like. Not one bit. To me whole milk tastes chalky and leaves a nasty aftertaste that I just can't stomach. Also, I love soy milk. Not only is this a great source of soy protein, calcium and vitamins, it tastes great, too! Silk products come in a variety of flavors and varieties, and I have yet to find an offering of theirs that I didn't enjoy. I especially loved the seasonal Silk Nog that was available around the holidays! Well, I was really excited to learn about the newest product in the Silk family. Silk Fruit & Protein is a wonderful juice blend that combines the taste of fresh fruit with the power of protein. As a matter of fact, each 1 cup serving has a whopping 5g of protein! It is also rich in calcium and Vitamin D, making this a nutritionally balanced beverage. Silk Fruit & Protein comes in three mouthwatering varieties: Strawberry Banana, Mixed Berry, and Mango Peach. I love the flavor combinations, since there is something that every member of my family is sure to love...Even my soy-hating husband! Getting my daily recommended amount of fruits has always been an issue for me, as I am more a veggie girl. I don't like many fruits, unless they're in smoothie form. Many fruits, especially citrus and even apples, create complete havoc for my already awful heartburn. So naturally, I was looking forward to trying Silk Fruit & Protein! This sounded like a great way to not only sneak in my fruits, but to also get an extra dose of protein. The awesome folks at Silk sent me some coupons so I could try Fruit & Protein with my family. I went to my local Walmart, since they tend to carry a large selection of Silk products. I was able to find the Strawberry Banana and the Mango Peach, but the Mixed Berry was nowhere to be found. Perhaps it was sold out! So I snatched up 2 half-gallon cartons of Strawberry Banana, as well as a carton of Mango Peach. I couldn't wait to get these home to try them! Just the images on the cartons made me crave a smoothie!
The first one I tried was the Mango Peach. I liked this flavor because it had the sweet, succulent flavor of peaches with a hint of exotic mango. The consistency of the Fruit & Protein did in fact remind me of a smoothie. It is thicker than juice, but thinner than a milkshake. I found it to be just right, especially for a quick breakfast on the go! The next one I tried was the Silk Fruit & Protein Strawberry and Banana. This was definitely the star of the show. The flavors were perfectly balanced with the sweet, yet tart bite of the strawberry and the mellow flavor of the bananas. I drank an entire carton of this myself over the period of 2 days. I even convinced my husband to try it! Of course I didn't warn him that this product contained soy beforehand. I wanted his honest, unbiased opinion. Just as I suspected, he LIKED it! Even my kids enjoyed Silk Fruit & Protein! My 12 year old loved the Peach Mango the best, and my toddlers loved both varieties I sampled, happily guzzling them down in their sippy cups! My daughter even went up to the fridge, opened it, and tried to bring me the Silk Fruit & Protein to refill her cup. So yes, this drink is definitely kid-approved! Overall, I am definitely impressed by this newest offering from Silk. The Fruit & Protein drinks are juicy, flavorful, and are absolutely delicious. I will most certainly be adding this to my weekly shopping list! Oh, and the folks at Silk are so sure you'll love it, too, they're offering a Money Back Guarantee! While this does have protein and fruit if you look at a regular glass of soymilk it has 7g of protein and this only has 5g. I like the drink, but it makes more sense to just blend fresh fruit and soymilk and get a little more protein.

I went through a big stage where I would only drink soy milk, and then it drifted into Almond milk. Out of all that I tried, I'd say that Silk's Dark Chocolate Almond Milk was my favorite.

I have been drinking their soymilk for a while now. The Almond is too sweet. Also not a fan of the Very Vanilla. Drink the Unsweetened every day. Just tried the Mango Peach with the coupon being the incentive. Really like it very much. Our Walmart has all their flavors here (which is surprising, because don't carry as much as area Walmarts).
