Shaving A Pain? Try The Butt Bench! Review and GIVEAWAY! 3/1

When I was pregnant, the one thing I had the most difficult time doing was shaving my legs. With a beach-ball of a belly, reaching every last inch of my legs with razor in hand was a bit hazardous, to say the least! Now thankfully during my last 2 pregnancies, my 3rd trimester fell during colder months and I didn't *have* to shave every...single...day. I still tried to as often as possible, though. Especially before heading in to my OBGYN's office. Yes, I know doctors see it all and nothing really shocks them, but MY doctor wasn't going to see me all hairy-legged and sloppy! No way! As a matter of fact, since my youngest 2 babies were born via scheduled C-sections, the last thing I did before leaving the house was shave my legs...even though it was horribly uncomfortable and took a really long time to accomplish!

Pregnant or not, I am not one of those women that allows herself to turn into an ape woman when the winter comes. I much prefer to be silky and smooth at all times. No one likes scratchy, annoying stubble! I am sometimes envious of men, as they don't have to go through the whole shaving routine when they shower. Men are allowed to be big, hairy oafs while women are expected to be hair-free at all times. (Unless you're in France.) Let's face it, ladies: Shaving can really be a hassle. You have to play a balancing act, often teetering on one foot, while gliding a super-sharp blade across your skin. This can result in nasty cuts, and if you've ever nicked yourself with a razor, you know how annoyingly painful that can be. Ahh, the things we do for beauty! Men will never fully understand!

That's why I was so excited when I discovered an awesome product called the Butt Bench. The Butt Bench can literally change the way you shave, making it a far less harrowing ordeal. On top of that, it can also help to de-clutter your shower or tub! The Butt Bench brings a natural look to your bathroom and comes in beautiful cedar wood or pine wood, in a few great color options. Built in sliding suction cups hold the bathtub seat in place. No need to make holes in your wall or install anything permanently. The Butt Bench can be removed or uninstalled with ease. The Butt Bench also acts as additional storage for your bottles and cleans easily. This bath seat is sealed with a water-proof finish making it resistant to water.

The super-nice folks at Butt Bench sent me the 15" Pine Butt Bench in White for my review. It arrived quickly and was well-packaged. When I took the Butt Bench out of its box, the first thing I noticed was the high-quality of the wood and the sturdiness of the mounting brackets. There are 2 large suction cups that you can slide into the position you need in order to attach the unit to your shower wall easily and effortlessly.

I have 2 tubs in my home. My tub is actually a large soaking tub, and the Butt Bench did not fit on this one. It also won't work in mobile homes or in showers with sliding glass doors. However, it fit beautifully in my preteen son's bathtub. Since I will now be doing all of my shaving in here, I need to make sure he "properly" cleans his bathroom! He's none too happy about this, since he thought he could cut corners and no one would notice, as this is "his" bathroom. He sure was surprised when he got home from school and I handed him a bottle of cleaner, some gloves, and a scrub-brush! Once he cleaned his bathroom, I installed the Butt Bench. It literally took a matter of seconds to do, and was very easy, even for me, who is not at all mechanically inclined!

Take a look at the Butt Bench in my son's tub!

This is a great way to de-clutter the tub!
Once I had it all set up, I decided to head into the black abyss that is my son's bathroom and shave my legs. I got into the shower, washed my hair and body, and then sat down on the Butt Bench, razor in hand. I was a little nervous that it wouldn't hold my 130lbs. But it did! The Butt Bench is incredibly sturdy and doesn't slide around at all, even when being sat on. I was able to shave my legs with no hassles whatsoever. Having the Butt Bench made things so much easier, as I could have while seated. Long gone are the days of standing on one foot trying to shave! Woo-Hoo!

When it's not in use, it makes fantastic storage for all of our bath and body products like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. It would also be great as a ledge for baby or toddler bath toys! Speaking of little ones, I have bathed the babies while being seated on the Butt Bench, and it made washing them so simple, since I was right there with them. It also made me feel safer, as I do worry about the kids slipping as they splash. If I am sitting on the Butt Bench, I am right there and can easily keep them from sliding into the bath water. I LOVE this product, since it is very versatile and can be used in so many different ways!

Another reason to consider getting a Butt Bench is because it's wonderful for seniors or even those with disabilities or physical limitations. I know it can sometimes be hard for those members of society to comfortably bathe or shower. While sitting on the Butt Bench, showering or bathing becomes a safer and much more comfortable experience. This is even great for those recovering from surgeries. I wish I had a Butt Bench after my C-sections! It would have made bathing so much easier for me!

Overall, I think that the Butt Bench is a must-have product for about a million different reasons. For one, it's a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing addition to any bathroom. Since it will help organize your personal care products, it can even free up space and prevent bottles from falling on your head while you shower! (Yes, I have really had this happen before!) I also love how sturdy the Butt Bench is. It can support the weight of an adult with no problem at all, and can easily be removed so little ones don't attempt to use it as a diving board. I also love the Butt Bench because it makes shaving an absolute breeze! I would definitely recommend the Butt Bench to anyone with a bathtub...That's all of us, right?!

My favorite Butt Bench is the Pine Butt Bench! It would give that "Spa" look to my otherwise non-spa-like bathroom!
