With preschoolers, a teen, cats and dogs in my home, you'd better believe I clean...A lot. The sad part? By the end of the day, it often looks like I haven't done a thing. Boy I can't wait till Sophie and Xander are a wee bit older and can help out a little more! And if my Yorkie, aptly named Trouble, would ever get completely, 100% housebroken, that would be great, too.

Anyway, it seems there are always messes that need urgent attention. It might be spills from sippy cups, food flung all over the room, mud tracked in off of my teen's shoes, or pee and poop from our "zoo"....It's always something. Always.

So when I got the opportunity to check out the Shark Steam & Spray Mop, I was beyond thrilled. We have mostly hardwood in our home, as well as some vinyl and laminate. This awesome mop can tackle just about any surface. Plus, you can use a cleaning solution, steam, or a combination of both!

Here are the specs, in detail. Check them out and compare them to your current mop!

    Steam, Spray, or Both
The Shark® Steam & SprayTM Mop is the MOST VERSATILE steam floor cleaning machine ever - giving you 3 amazing Cleaning Modes!

Before the Shark® Steam Mop, harsh chemicals were needed to sanitize your floors or break through messes - NOT ANYMORE - and now we've added a gentle non toxic cleanser with the Shark® Steam & SprayTMmop.

    Steam EnergizedTM Cleanser
Shark® Steam EnergizedTM Cleanser is non-toxic, biodegradable and safe around kids & pets. This specially formulated cleanser leaves floors cleaner with no dulling residue.

When ENERGIZED with STEAM, Shark® cleanser reaches an even higher level of cleaning. Ideal for breaking down the tougher stuck on stains & greasy floor messes!

    Two Types of Pads
For the first time ever, Shark® actually gives you the choice of what type of pad to use-disposable or washable!

You'll love the convenience of Shark® disposable SaniFiberTM pads for quick pick-ups and they're great for areas like the bathroom-once the dirt, germs, and bacteria are picked up, you just throw the pad away. And even Shark's disposable SaniFiberTM pads are made of a special microfiber material for superior deep cleaning and sanitization.

Or, you can choose the Shark® ultra-absorbent washable pads for bigger messes and reuse again and again!

It also features:
  •           Intelligent Electronic Steam Control
  •          Cleanser Spray Button
  •          25' Removable Power Cord
  •          450ml Water Tank
  •          Spray Nozzle
  •          Ergonomic Handle
  •         Washable Pads
  •         SaniFiber™ Pads

  • Like I said, my house is a Century home. (It was built in 1924.) It still has the original hardwood in many of my rooms. In these photos it looks kind of dingy and old, but it doesn't look like that in person. There are just color variations in the wood, which has aged nicely along with my house.

I was quite eager to use the Steam & Spray Mop on my hardwoods. Since they're so old, I don't like using chemicals. Steam-cleaning and sanitizing is a much better choice. Especially since steamed floors dry rather quickly.

While I prefer to use just the steam on my hardwood floors most of the time, this mop allows the option of using a special, multi-floor cleaner. Imagine having a mop and bucket in one lightweight unit. That's what happens when you use the cleaner. I love this in my kitchen and in my bathrooms! It really does a great job of getting out even tough spots and messes!

For steaming only, all you need to do is fill the water reservoir to the full line. Then just plug the unit in and start mopping. The water heats up rapidly, producing a nice, steady stream of steam.

The Shark Steam & Spray can be used with either disposable SaniFiber pads or washable pads. In the name of being green, I usually use the washable pads. I end up using the 'sposies when the other is in the laundry. Both pads clean very well and pick up an amazing amount of dirt, dust, and unidentifiable gunk. And in my home with small kids and pets, we deal with a lot of mystery gunk!

Even my husband likes using the Shark Steam & Spray Mop. Here he is, mopping our kitchen...WITHOUT being asked to! (And check out how God-awful hideous my kitchen floor is! Replacing this ugly, ancient vinyl is on my to-do list for 2014.) He loves the fact that there is no constant trigger action required. After awhile, that makes your hand cramp. So this was a nice change for him. He also loves the fact that the 25 ft cord is long enough to clean just about any space without needing to unplug, and re-plug in another outlet.

Overall, I would absolutely, 100% recommend the Shark Steam & Spray Mop. This is a versatile, lightweight cleaning solution that is suitable for basically any surface. Want a deep clean? Use the cleaning solution. Just want to quickly clean and sanitize? Use the steam...Or use both! We use this mop daily in our home, and we love how quick and easy it makes cleaning our floors!

I love this Shark. We have been trying to restore our home that we recently purchased. We have hard wood throughout. Ceramic tile in bathrooms & kitchen , with the kids dog & puppy this would be perfect for us.

This is going on our must-haves list. Our house is all hardwood and tile (minus the area rugs). We sill mop the old fashioned way..a mop and bucket. It's time for a change!

This is something I definately need for my kitchen and bathroom floors. It looks like it has a long cord on it and is lightweight - which I need. I like that you can just steam and sanitize the floor if you need to.
