There are loads of reasons people experience aches and pains during the cooler months. In my home, we are very leery of painkillers. There has been a lot of talk in recent years how painkillers such as acetaminophen can create some very serious problems with the liver. I had my gall-bladder out a little over a year ago, so I don't take any chances when it comes to my liver!

And prescription painkillers? Forget about it. I have seen firsthand how incredibly dangerous these are, and how they can completely ruin someone's life. I avoid them like the plague. Even after c-sections, I only took my prescribed meds while in the hospital, and maybe a day afterwards. I took them sparingly, and ultimately ended up disposing of the bulk of the pills. Yes, prescription painkillers have their place, and are sometimes needed. I just don't want to take the chance at dependency. My kids deserve better than that.
