Say Goodbye to Winter Aches with Salonpas Sweepstakes 3/15

***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation has been provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.***
There are loads of reasons people experience aches and pains during the cooler months. For one, lots of folks are starting to work out more, in hopes of keeping those New Year's resolutions to get a fit, toned body. Me? Well, I have to be honest. My only real hope for a smokin' hot body is cremation, and I am not in any kind of hurry for that!

Another reason for winter time aches and pains is the constant need for shoveling. At least here in the Cleveland, Ohio suburbs, it is. We have been getting dumped on constantly, and have tons and tons of snow on the ground. It's snowing right this second, actually. My poor husband has had to shovel our walkways, deck and stairs, and parking spaces a lot recently, and it definitely leaves him sore afterwards.
In my home, we are very leery of painkillers. There has been a lot of talk in recent years how painkillers such as acetaminophen can create some very serious problems with the liver. I had my gall-bladder out a little over a year ago, so I don't take any chances when it comes to my liver!

And prescription painkillers? Forget about it. I have seen firsthand how incredibly dangerous these are, and how they can completely ruin someone's life. I avoid them like the plague. Even after c-sections, I only took my prescribed meds while in the hospital, and maybe a day afterwards. I took them sparingly, and ultimately ended up disposing of the bulk of the pills. Yes, prescription painkillers have their place, and are sometimes needed. I just don't want to take the chance at dependency. My kids deserve better than that.

Did you know that topical pain relievers, such as Salonpas products, can offer super-speedy pain relief without the risks of ingested painkillers? Since they get absorbed into the skin, much lower doses of medication are needed, and this medicine also bypasses the stomach and the liver.
Picture
“When people self-medicate with over-the-counter oral pain pills, they can ingest inappropriate doses and run the risk of potential drug interactions, which can lead to unintended or unsuspected dangerous side effects, some of which can be as serious as liver failure or heart damage,” says Dr. Sylvia Hesse, a New York based orthopedic medicine specialist.  “By relying on topical analgesic gels, sprays and patches for pain relief - without the use of pills - you can be assured of making a safer choice.”

Recently, we received an assortment of Salonpas products to check out for ourselves. All of these products quickly and effectively soothed our tired and achy muscles. Dan really liked the Pain Relieving Jet Spray and the Deep Relieving Gel. He used these several times after almost killing himself shoveling snow and ice. They definitely did the trick for his sore back, shoulders, and legs!

I love the Pain Relief Patches. I get horrific, terrible cramps in my lower back during that time of the month. It's literally almost unbearable. Using these pain relief patches helped to take the edge off of my discomfort within minutes. The effect lasted quite awhile, too. My children thank you, Salonpas. You kept me from turning into the "Evil Mommy Monster" during my last female cycle!
You can check out the awesomeness that is Salonpas on their website. Check out their handy retail locator to find these products in a store near you!

You can also connect with Salonpas on Facebook and on twitter to stay on top of their latest products and promotions.

Welcome to that of the kind(s) of aches and pains I could use some relief from? I would love to win this prize; it starts off with relief from injuries resulting from an accident. My life has changed as the pain has resulted in me spending the majority of time in my home. A very resourceful reason is I want to see if it will provide a way to aid with my condition (RSD | CRPS), because the condition was first documented during the Civil War, very little has been found to help them get relief from their pain. The persons that will use these wont solely be myself but my family, because this would be the perfect time as she just underwent an operation. I am sure my friends & family would love to learn more about it -- I have chosen to share this giveaway online & offline so other's can enter!
