![]() I may have mentioned it in the past, but my husband is the world's biggest chocoholic. He will eat pounds of chocolate at a time, and his waistline suffers no consequences. (Lucky guy!) We always have to have a stash of chocolate on hand, because without it, he literally gets grumpy and on edge. I'm pretty certain that chocolate has no true physically addictive properties, but you would never know it if you met my husband. It seems my daughter, Sophie, has inherited her Daddy's love for all things rich, gooey, and chocolatey. She perks right up at the sight of anything chocolate, and will throw a fit until someone-usually Daddy-gives her some. She's even been known to find wrapped chocolates and will "chew" the packaging, trying to get it open. I see we have another budding chocoholic on our hands! After all, she IS a Daddy's Girl in every sense of the word! That's why I was so excited to get the opportunity to try Romanicos Chocolates with my family. Romanicos makes absolutely gorgeous, handmade chocolates that come in a staggering variety of unique and tantalizing flavor combinations. Romanicos never outsources their chocolates, and they are all made daily from scratch by master chocolatiers in their Miami kitchens. Another thing I found intriguing is that Romanicos Chocolates contain absolutely no added sugars, and contain less sugar overall than most brands of chocolate. Why is this? So that the delicious, natural flavors in their chocolates take center stage! Many of their varieties are also gluten-free, which makes them the perfect choice for those with dietary restrictions who live a gluten-free lifestyle. I received a gorgeous assortment of Romanicos Chocolates for my review. This included their best-selling Mixed Cube, which has a wonderful assortment of Truffles, Truffle Bites, and their simply stunning Chocolate Art. I also received a variety of their chocolate bars for review, in tempting flavors like Wild Cherry Chocolate, Soy Bean & Sea Salt, Walnut & Honey, and even Cayenne Pepper bars! Take a look! Chocolate Bars: We really enjoyed the selection of Chocolate Bars we received from Romanicos. The flavors were complex, yet simple, and had very unique flavor profiles. I especially liked the Soy Bean & Sea Salt variety. Initially, this was the one I was most skeptical about. Soy beans, salt, and chocolate? But it ended up being an ingenious combination! The rich, creamy dark chocolate was complemented perfectly by the light crunchiness of the soy beans and the clean flavor of the sea salt. I was actually sad when this bar was gone. It's definitely a winning, yet unexpected combination that will make the taste buds dance with delight. We also really liked the Cayenne Pepper Chocolate Bars. I have been a fan of using chocolate and spicy peppers in my own kitchen for some time. Whether it be Mexican Hot Cocoa or my Cincinnati Chili, I am a big fan of the unique way these flavors work together to bring the sweet and heat together. I have never had cayenne in a chocolate bar, though. I must say, I was not disappointed. When eating the chocolate, the cayenne isn't overly noticeable...at first. You get the sweetness and creaminess of the dark chocolate, and this is then followed by the spicy heat of the cayenne, giving a warm, pleasantly surprising finish. This was an expert use of the ingredients, because one flavor does not overpower the other. They work together in perfect harmony to bring a uniquely decadent tasting experience. ![]() Truffle Bites: The first thing we dove into were the Truffle Bites. These were absolutely heavenly! Romanicos uses their famous Truffle recipe and then surrounds this filling with a crunchy chocolate shell. They are then topped with nuts, chocolate and other goodies to make the experience even more intoxicatingly delicious! With flavors like Almond Cheer, Hazlenut Joy, Pure Chocolate Delight, and Caramel Bliss, you won't be able to stop yourself at just one. Yes, they are really THAT good! I especially liked the Coconut Whimsy Truffle Bites. Along with the creamy, indulgent chocolate is a hint of fresh, exotic coconut. Yum! We definitely enjoyed the Truffle Bites. These little confections are perfect for everyday, too, since they are one of the more economical choices from Romanicos. So with the Truffle Bites, you can impress, even if you're on a budget. ![]() Chocolate Art: Chocolate Art are small bonbons, made by hand with beautiful colored patterns on top. They are filled with fresh fruits pastes, spreads, or nuts. They are crunchy outside and some are solid chocolate with a whole nut. They are made with a special mix of premium Belgium chocolate with Venezuelan Chocolate. They are the perfect choice for those who like the crunch factor and loves variety and color. We loved the Chocolate Art by Romanicos. These little treats are not only beautiful to look at, they're also positively scrumptious! We especially loved the pistachio, the Raspberry and the Nutella varieties. The Chocolate Art is creamy, crunchy, and absolutely addictive, if you ask my husband! The only problem? You just might find them too pretty to eat! ![]() Truffles: In this case, I have truly saved the best for last. I cannot say enough good things about the Romanicos Truffles. Oh. My. Goodness. These are truly to die for. I have never had such a creamy, delectable truffle before. Romanicos Truffles are made one by one by hand and they are our signature product. They are made out of a secret family recipe from the owner's grandmother. They are made with Venezuelan premium chocolate, fresh cream and natural flavors. And they are low in calories! Not because they are a diet chocolate, but because Romanicos doesn't add any preservatives, butter, or extra sugar. They are creamy and melt easily, especially in your mouth. On top of that, these are like heaven in a little, chocolatey sphere. Even looking at these chocolates makes my mouth water. One of the things I love the most about these, aside from the taste, is that these are very visibly handmade. I love the slight variations in shape that occur by the hand-rolling process. This is just a testament to the superior quality of these Truffles. We loved the rich, chocolate flavor and the exotic, flavorful fillings. Among our favorites were the Heavenly Vanilla, Original Sin, Floridian Orange, and Sinful Amaretto. And the fact that these truffles are low calorie? Well, I wouldn't believe it based on taste alone. They don't TASTE low calorie! But now you can have your truffles without guilt or fear of expanding your waistline. Romanicos Signature Truffles will make you feel like you're indulging in something naughty, all while remaining quite nice! Overall, we LOVED the selection of chocolates we received from Romanicos. These chocolates are a far cry from the norm, and in a very good way. They are creamy, rich in flavor, and have some unexpected surprised that will definitely leave you craving more. The chocolatiers at Romanicos are obviously culinary geniuses, and this shows in their unique use of ingredients and flavor combinations. So if you're looking for a flavor adventure or just something extra special, Romanicos Chocolates is sure to make any occasion absolutely memorable. BUY IT: You can purchase Romanicos Chocolates on their website. Romanicos offers overnight shipping to the US for a mere $5.99!
