![]() My toddler loves the television, and she loves music. She loves to dance whenever there is music on a commercial or on Sprout, her favorite children's channel. When her favorite programs are on, she will bop and twirl and giggle wildly. As a mom, I prefer her television time to be educational as well as fun. I am not a big advocate of letting a child watch TV all day long, so what time my kids spend watching their favorite shows is closely monitored by their "strict mommy" so I can be sure they are actually getting something from it. As my daughter rapidly approaches her second birthday, it's time to really focus on more educational content. Sure, I want her to have fun, but it's time to really focus on things like body parts, shapes, numbers and counting, and learning her ABC's. It's never too early to start teaching these basic skills that will help with school readiness. School may still be years away, but starting to learn these skills now will put her ahead of the curve and give her confidence and a love for learning that will stay with her throughout her formative years. So naturally, when presented with the opportunity to review the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learn & Move Music Station, I jumped at the chance. This great activity station offers tons of interactive play, all while teaching basic skills like colors, numbers, and the alphabet! ![]() Sophie exploring the many functions of the toy. Sophie loves the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn & Move Music Station. She enjoys it in "free-play" mode, as she can simulate a piano, make her own tunes, and play with the colorful characters on the toy. If this weren't enough, this awesome educational toy can also be plugged into the television for interactive learning! Included with the Laugh & Learn & Move is a sensor that can detect which buttons are pushed on the toy, and the characters on the television screen act accordingly! That's right! Baby controls what happens on the TV! There are 50+ great songs and activities, and tons of colorful stimulation to keep baby engaged. These activities are divided into developmental stages, Stage 1 and Stage 2. Each stage includes fun features that are sure to make baby giggle with delight, all while teaching them fundamentals like shapes and colors, body parts, ABC's and counting, and so much more! Sophie especially liked the Body Parts song, although each and every fun melody had her dancing around, stomping her feet, and twirling around. She was even "talking" to the friendly Fisher-Price animal characters on the television! We had a blast watching her enthusiastic reaction to the Laugh & Learn & Move Music Station. This has quickly become one of her favorite toys! But the fun doesn't stop there! Even my youngest, Xander, was able to enjoy this toy! Fisher-Price understands that babies grow and change so quickly, so they have designed the Laugh & Learn & Move Music Station to grow with your child! While it can be used as a "stand up" toy for older babies and toddlers, this great music station can also be adjusted for younger babies. My 7 month old who is just beginning to sit on his own can also comfortably play with this toy, as it can be lowered to his level, too! It is as simple as adjusting the legs. Take a look! Overall, we were very pleased with the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn & Move Music Station. Not only does it offer interactive play that both of my babies can enjoy, we also loved the variety of songs and educational activities this great toy offers. My TV-loving toddler can get her television time while actually learning something, and the melodic, cheerful songs and friendly Fisher-Price pals are sure to keep any baby's attention. I also really like the fact that this product can be adjusted to grow with the child, which extends the life of the toy considerably and will help keep baby from outgrowing this toy too quickly. With over 50+ songs and activities, there is always something new to learn, and because this music station is interactive, every experience will be uniquely different.
I loved that both of my babies were engaged and entertained, and could play together. My favorite thing to do is to allow Xander to press the keys while Sophie watches the action on the television screen. As he explores the keyboard and buttons, his big sister dances and squeals, and both babies end up giggling and having the time of their lives. And they're doing it together. There are very few toys we have that our infant and our toddler can equally enjoy, let alone at the same time! Fisher-Price gets major brownie points from me on this aspect! This product can also help teach independence and help build self-esteem, since baby is in charge of the characters on the screen and can actually make things happen! When Sophie first realized that SHE was making the animals move and dance, she was absolutely ecstatic, and the expression of pride on her face was priceless. My only complaint is that there is a slight lag time between baby pushing the keys and buttons and the actions displaying on the television screen. Because of this, it took awhile for the babies to realize that they were making these things happen themselves while playing with the toy. But once they caught on, they were delighted. So my advice to anyone trying this toy that gets discouraged by the lag? Give it time. Be patient. Once baby realizes that they can make the characters do things, they will be absolutely delighted! I would definitely recommend the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn & Move Music Station to any family with a baby or toddler. (or both!) This toy is fun, totally interactive, and helps teach skills that will help prepare your child for school readiness. Fisher-Price gets an A++ from me with this innovative system.
