Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Prize Pack GIVEAWAY! 9/15

Part of the reason I am so ecstatic to be back in my hometown in Ohio can be summed up in 2 words: Rocco's Pizza. This is a local treasure that has been around since I was a little kid. They're owned by an Italian family, and all of their food is authentic and mouth-wateringly delicious. The star of the show has got to be their sheet pizzas.

I have tons of great memories from childhood about this pizza. I was in a father-daughter group through the YMCA called Indian Princesses. Each week, there would be a "tribe meeting" at one of the group member's home. We'd always order Rocco's Pizza. It's funny because the dads in the group would ask for 1 anchovy to be placed randomly on the pizza, under the cheese, of course. All of the girls would then be paranoid while we ate...Worried about who would get a bite of something fishy and disgusting! As a child, I always dreaded that lone anchovy.  As an adult, I laugh...Our dads really loved messing with us!

Sadly, while I am back home in Ohio, I have not yet had Rocco's Pizza yet. Why? Because they don't deliver and my husband is lazy once he gets home from work. He doesn't feel like driving to get a food that can easily be delivered. So that leaves me with a craving for a nice, cheesy sheet pizza. And no one has this but Rocco's.

So when I learned about the new Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust with Whole Grain, This way, I could make my own sheet pizza in the comfort of my own home. This takes care of my craving, and makes the hubby happy because he doesn't need to run out to pick up a pizza. The kids are happy, too, since they love fresh pizza out of the oven. Add to that the fact that this crust has 16g of Whole Grain per serving: It's a win-win situation!

Now I have tried a few premade doughs before, and a lot of them leave me disappointed. Some are dry and taste like cardboard, others have no flavor whatsoever. I was pleasantly surprised by the Pillsbury Artisan Pizza Crust with Whole Grains. This crust is delicious, and doesn't taste like a shipping box at all. It has a nice texture and consistency, and it's not too thick or too thin. It's just right, in my opinion. It also comes out moist and has the right amount of chewiness to it. For store-bought, this is an amazing, ready to use pizza crust!

I have used it to make several pizzas now, with both red and white sauces, and it's always fantastic.The kids love pepperoni with extra cheese. My favorite is a grilled chicken and broccoli pizza with mushrooms, black olives, and extra cheese. I like to use either a white sauce or a garlic butter sauce for this pizza. It's heavenly!
