As a mom, one thing that really matters to me is providing my children with wholesome, organic snacks when hunger strikes. Sure, it's relatively easy to allow kids to fill up on traditional snack foods that are loaded with added sugars and preservatives. There are many prepackaged snacks that we can offer our children, but a good number of these snacks are full of empty calories and additives, and offer very little in the nutrition department. Why do we continue to give these snacks to our kids? Because they're convenient. While we run errands and keep various appointments, it is easy to just grab something...anything...and go. Convenience is definitely a factor with the busy schedules we lead. Finding portable, organic snacks has not always been an easy feat. Sure, a piece of fruit is a great idea, but fruit can spoil and tends to bruise easily. And for the littlest eaters, whole fruit is not always an option. Babies and toddlers often need special preparation, as they can't just bite into an apple yet. As a matter of fact, my toddler will not touch whole fruit. Ever. At all. Getting Sophie to eat fruit has been a losing battle in my home, since my daughter doesn't enjoy it much of the time. She much prefers vegetables. I guess I shouldn't complain, since I know a lot of kids who hate their veggies! So when it comes to finding delicious, organic fruit snacks for my toddler that she'll actually eat, I have been forced to get creative. I sneak her fruit into smoothies, and I hide it in her cereal. I try and take advantage of every opportunity to make sure Sophie gets the essential nutrients found in fruit. A lot of the time, I have to give her a fruit and veggie blend to "fool" her discriminating taste buds. That's why I was so excited when I learned about Peter Rabbit Organics! Sophie snuggling her PR Organics Pouch! Peter Rabbit Organics is a small, privately-owned company. They produce all of their products in Oregon, USA. The Peter Rabbit Organics family is passionate about what they do and have a lot of fun working together! Peter Rabbit Organics' mission is a simple one: They strive to provide nutritious, tasty snacks to kids of all ages (adults, too!) that are free of any added salts, sugars, or preservatives. Have a picky eater like my Sophie? Peter Rabbit Organics has you covered there, too! They offer a scrumptious variety of fruits and even fruit and veggie blends that are sure to please even the most discriminating of palates! I am pleased to say that Sophie has really enjoyed the fruit pouches we sampled from Peter Rabbit Organics. She especially loved the Pea, Spinach and Apple variety while the Carrot, Squash and Apple blend came in a close second. Yes, my child is odd. She much prefers veggies to fruits, as strange as that may be. Usually, she won't go near plain fruit. But the ingenious blends offered by Peter Rabbit Organics have proven to be worth their weight in gold, since I can make sure my picky toddler gets her fruit and veggies and the vital nutrients they contain, all without additives or preservatives. All that goes into her little body is pure, organic fruits and vegetables. As a mom, that's something I can definitely feel good about! Look, Mom! I can hold it myself! Luckily, while Sophie only cared for the fruit and veggie blends, Xander, my 6 month old, LOVED the fruit blends! It comes in handy having 2 test babies at times! Often, things that one doesn't care for, the other will love. This was the case with Peter Rabbit Organics. Xander has been enjoying solids for a month or so now, and he is far less picky than his older sister. He enjoys fruits and vegetables alike. So it was really no surprise that he loved the fruit blends available at Peter Rabbit Organics. His favorite seemed to be the Apple and Grape blend. When I gave it to him, put it to his mouth and squeezed ever so gently to show him that it was food, he lit up! He smiled, squealed and laughed, and started holding the pouch all by himself! He even ate a large portion of the fruit on his own. (With mommy sitting less than 2 feet away, of course!) He also loved the Strawberry Banana blend and the Mango, Banana and Orange! Xander is used to relatively one-note flavors, so I am sure that experiencing these organic fruit blends for the first time was quite the taste adventure for him, and one he seemed to thoroughly enjoy! While he did need some assistance enjoying these fruit pouches, he seemed to get excited about the accomplishment of holding the pouch and putting it in his mouth all by himself. Even at 6 months of age, babies can feel pride and excitement when trying and accomplishing new things. I love how Peter Rabbit Organics has worked this into their product design. Anything that helps a child build their self-esteem and make them feel a sense of independence gets an A++ in my book! I don't know if this was the intention of Peter Rabbit Organics when they designed their easy to eat pouches, but it is definitely something I noticed and appreciate as a mom! Overall, we LOVE Peter Rabbit Organics! These awesome fruit and veggie puree pouches are all organic, contain 100% fruit and vegetables, and never have added sugar or anything artificial. You won’t have to read the label – the fruit you see on the front is what’s inside! If you do read the label you’ll see your snacks are high in vitamin C, have between 70 and 85 calories, 0 fat (of course – it’s fruit!) and 1.5-2 grams of fiber. Peter Rabbit Organics don’t require refrigeration before eating and come in BPA-free resealable pouches for easy packing. Plus, the convenient, squeezy pouch (with a no-choke cap) makes it fun and easy for little hands! What's not to love?! BUY IT: To learn more about Peter Rabbit Organics, please visit their website.
