Yes, I know it's still winter. Here in NE Ohio, it's actually disgustingly, horrifyingly cold. I am talking wind chills WELL below zero. And it's not supposed to get any warmer anytime soon. (No, I don't think I will ever truly get used to Ohio cold!)

But even though the temps outside are dangerously low and there is massive amounts of snow in my forecast, I still make sure my littles wear their sunglasses when they go outside. After all, the sun is still shining, and little peepers need protection! I make the kiddos wear sunblock in the winter, too. Have you ever seen a snow-induced sunburn? Not fun. Not fun at all!

So when I got the opportunity to check out the high-quality children's sunglasses from Paxley, I was delighted. Paxley offers a great selection of stylish eyewear for babies and children. These glasses are designed in sunny California and handcrafted in Italy! (And we all know Italian-made fashion is very sought after!)

Paxley offers glasses in 3 sizes: 0-18 months, 1-3 years, and 3-5 years.

We received 2 pairs of Paxley sunglasses to check out for ourselves. They arrived very quickly and were extremely well-packaged. These sunglasses come in an  attractive box, and include a nice drawstring carrying case.

My 4 year old daughter, Sophie, received the Silverlake in Pink Clear. (This style is also available in Teal and Light Green if pink just isn't your thing.)

These sunglasses are not only super-chic and utterly adorable, they are also very well made. These, and all other Paxley products offer:
  • Soft, flexible yet durable SafeBend™ temple technology.
  • Ergo-designed rubber bridge pads for developing noses.
  • 100% UV protection lenses compliant with US, European, Australian and New Zealand standards.

There is even a removable, adjustable strap that helps keep these sunglasses on your child's head. My kids don't really care for the strap, since they're 3 and 4 years old and can keep their glasses on, but this feature is great for younger babies or for trips to the playground. This strap will keep the glasses from flying off while little ones swing, slide, climb and play!

Xander received the Pico on Light Gray. Honestly, these look more black to me. But they are clear, so the gray color shows up if you look closely. I am not complaining, though. I actually really like how dark the frames are. Xander does, too! He says he's a "super-spy" when he wears them!

These also come with the removable strap. It just snaps right into place. As you can see, I have it attached at one end and not on the other, just to give you an idea of how it goes on to the glasses.

So these sunglasses are obviously drool-worthy, but are they kid-approved? YES! Sophie and Xander absolutely love, love, love their Paxley sunglasses!

Xander loves being silly and peeking at us from behind his shades. What a little ham!

And Daddy put on his own sunglasses, so Xander felt pretty special. It's like they had their own, 2 man spy crew!

My Sophie also loves her glasses, but she hates having her picture taken. So of course, she wouldn't pose nicely for me. She is 4 going on 16, apparently!

This is the closest I got to a good photo of Sophie wearing her Paxley sunglasses. Other than the undone hair, not too shabby, right?

Overall, I am definitely a Paxley fan. Most sunglasses for very young children get destroyed in about 10 seconds flat. Small kids aren't always very gentle with their things! I was delighted and actually pretty darn surprised that these sunglasses can easily withstand the hurricane that is my children. They pulled, tugged, threw, and even fought over their glasses and they DID NOT BREAK. Obviously, the folks at Paxley know what they're doing, since these sunglasses are made specifically with active children in mind. So when you're doing your sprint shopping, or just looking to replace your kids' sunglasses, definitely check out this brand. I think you'll be as delighted as we are!
