My teen included, even though he claims he is "too old" for kids' movies. So when we learned about the newest feature, "Toy Story of Terror", I knew we just had to have it. I love horror movies, but sometimes, they tend to be a bit much for my preschoolers. So a scary twist on a favorite seemed like the perfect way to get my littles all geared up for Halloween! About Toy Story of Terror What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story OF TERROR! “Toy Story OF TERROR!” features the voice talents of original “Toy Story” cast members Tom Hanks as “Woody,” Tim Allen as “Buzz Lightyear,” Joan Cusack as “Jessie,” Timothy Dalton as “Mr. Pricklepants,” Don Rickles as “Mr. Potato Head,” Kristen Schaal as “Trixie” and Wallace Shawn as “Rex,” along with series newcomer Carl Weathers as “Combat Carl/Combat Carl Jr.” This film is quite short in comparison to the other Toy Story features. In fact, it's only about 21 minutes long. (The same amount of time for most TV specials.) The story may be brief, but it's definitely full of thrills and chills. It all begins when Bonnie's Mom's car breaks down on the way to Grandma's house. They are forced to stay in a spooky motel, and somehow, toys start going missing. They have to get to the bottom of this mystery before all the toys meet the same fate.
I don't want to give away any spoilers here, but this is definitely a very cute story that is perfect for Toy Story fans of all ages. We were on the edge of our seats as we watched the story play out, and the kids have watched it many, many times. And of course, there is the underlying themes of friendship and teamwork, as in previous "Toy Story" films! In addition to the feature, there are several bonus materials:
"Toy Story of Terror" is available online and wherever movies are sold. Price may vary by retailer.
