No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** I'm not going to lie....I am having a BAD DAY. (A horrible, bad, terrible, awful, no-good day, to be exact.) The morning started well. I got up, cleaned the kitchen and started a load of dishes, and even got a bit of blogging done before the kids woke up. So far, so good, right? And then the mail came... And my nice, productive day turned into a terrible day in the time it took me to open an envelope. You see, in the mail, there was an invoice for almost $4500 in my husband's name. Apparently, he thought it was somehow a good idea to buy a fancy-pants Snap-On tool box, and didn't think he needed to mention it to me. Not smart. Not smart at all. There are a few problems with this. First of all, he is not a mechanic. Hasn't been for years. He does not work on cars. He does not have the tools to fill a tool box, let alone have the need for one. Secondly, (and here's the important part) I had absolutely no knowledge of this purchase, even though I am the one who does all of the budgeting and bill paying. So imagine my shock when I opened up that envelope. I about had a heart attack! We certainly cannot afford a purchase of that size, so I have absolutely no clue what was going through his mind at the time. I'm not going to lie, my very first instinct was to call him at work and scream at him. Of course I don't want to be "that wife", so I didn't. He is supposed to be working, after all. My next instinct was to list all of his video games and systems on craigslist. Again, I didn't do that, since the kids wouldn't appreciate it. No need to punish them, too, you know? Ultimately, I have decided that the best thing for me to do right now is calm down. There is no wine in the house right now, so I decided to make myself a nice, steamy cup of coffee loaded with organic sugar, creamer, and some Torani Hazelnut Syrup. And of course since I need the pick-me-up, I decided to break out my Nonni's Biscotti. Who can remain infuriated when they're dunking delicious biscotti bites into a hot cup of coffee, after all? Yes, I admit, when I am upset, food generally makes me feel just a little bit better....This is probably why I am not a size 0. But that's an entirely different post altogether. But considering the day I've been having, can you really blame me for indulging? Take a look at these amazing Biscotti Bites! They're a bit smaller than your typical Biscotti, which makes them the perfect size for dunking. And they come in some pretty mouth-watering flavors like Double Chocolate Salted Caramel (my fave!), Very Berry Almond, and Almond Dark Chocolate. I am usually not a huge fan of chocolate in general, but I am pretty addicted to the Double Chocolate Salted Caramel Biscotti Bites. They have a nice, rich, chocolate flavor that is perfectly balanced with a hint of caramel goodness and a hit of savory sea salt. The Very Berry Almond is also perfection. It's not overwhelmingly sweet, but has a nice fruity flavor thanks to the berries. This variety is especially good dipped in coffee or even milk, or even on top of a nice scoop of ice cream. The Almond Dark Chocolate is tasty as well, but this is more my over-spending hubby's style, since he loves dark chocolate. I was going to save them for him, but now I am thinking I should charge him $4500 for the bag. That would serve him right about now.... So even though I am having the most rotten day I've had in quite some time, at least I can calm myself down and avoid turning into a screaming banshee thanks to my Nonni's Biscotti Bites and a cup or 3 of coffee. Sure, I am still upset and probably will be for awhile, but I can't help but feel a little bit better while enjoying my afternoon treat. If you've never tried Nonni's Biscotti Bites, I would highly recommend doing so. They're absolutely amazing, and might even be able to help keep the peace in your home like they are doing in mine this afternoon! These wonderful bites make even the worst of days a little sweeter.
