***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided and all opinions are my own and have not been influenced in any way.*** My preschoolers share a lot of the same interests, even though I have a girl and a boy. I don't really do the whole gender stereotyping thing when it comes to toys. If my Sophie wants to be a Ninja-Super-Hero, so be it. If Xander wants to play with dolls and help make cupcakes in the play kitchen, awesome! I have found its best to allow kids to use their imaginations, no matter what toys happen to be involved. Plus, let's face it: With a boy and a girl only 12 months apart in age, it's easier to just let them play happily together. One of my kids' favorite things to do is play dollies. They're SO obsessed that when they use their tablets, they go on YouTube and watch doll reviews. I wish I could say I'm joking, but I'm totally serious. I think part of the appeal with dolls is that they allow even very young children to nurture and care for someone, just like Mommy and Daddy do! One of our favorite lines of dolls are the Nenuco dolls by Famosa. This Spanish toy company offers a wide variety of dolls that are not only totally huggable, but also quite detailed. They have cute little button noses, chubby cheeks and thighs, and silky hair, too! (Well, the ones that have hair, at least!) They also come with some very precious little outfits to complete the look. Recently, we received Nenuco and Her Little Sister to check out for ourselves. Obviously, this made me ecstatic. I have 2 kids, so 2 dolls eliminated some fighting right off the bat! Also, I absolutely love the fact that these dolls depict siblings rather close together in age, much like my own little ones. As you can see, these dolls are pretty stinking cute. I love the fact that their little outfits match! I also love the fairly realistic looking features of the dolls. Those chubby little legs and chins almost make me want another baby. Note, I did just say almost. This baby factory is out of commission! Sophie and Xander absolutely adore their new "children". Big sis is named Sophie, of course. Little sister? Well....Her name is "Xanderella". I know. Pretty silly. I really think I am going to need to get Xander a boy doll one of these days! These wonderful dolls have quickly become constant companions to my children, and I get a real kick out of seeing them coo and cuddle, and even put the dolls in "Time-Out". They're going to be great parents one day, hopefully many, many years from now. So if you're looking for some very well-made dolls that won't break the bank, I would definitely recommend checking out what the folks at Nenuco have to offer. These dolls are so much fun, and sure to become fast favorites in any household. Sophie and Xander immediately wanted me to open these dolls so they could play with them. Since Xander finally started pooping on his potty after a year and a half of being completely unwilling, I allowed him to choose which doll he'd like to play with first. He told me that since he's a BIG boy now, he'd like to play with the BIG doll. Sophie's pretty proud of her lil' bro at the moment, so she didn't even protest. Such a nice big sister, don't you agree? How to Connect :You can check out the awesomeness that is Nenuco on their website.
