***Disclosure: As a National Geographic Kids Insider, I receive complimentary product to facilitate my reviews. No other compensation is provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Do your kids ask about a million questions in a day? Mine sure do! Sophie and Xander seem to be curious about everything, from why the sky is blue to how to grow the perfect garden to what kind of currency is used in other countries....and pretty much everything in between. As a mom, it thrills me to see my kids so enthusiastic and eager to learn about the world around them. I love the looks of excitement they get on their little faces when they learn something new. It's like their eyes light up and you can see their little minds processing their new-found knowledge. One amazing place to find tons of information about everything under the sun is the National Geographic Kids 2015 Almanac. This kid-friendly book is loaded with vibrant pictures, tons of fun facts, and even digital extras that you can access by scanning special codes with your smartphone for even more learning fun! Do you have a budding politician in your home? Well, the 2015 National Geographic Kids Almanac has a wonderfully informative section that covers everything from the Constitution and Bill of Rights to the branches of our government, and even facts about all of our nation's Presidents. Pretty cool, right? If your kids have endless questions about the Earth and geography, this great book has you covered there, too. There is a wealth of information about not only the geological make-up of our planet, but all of the different countries, cultures and wildlife, too! And thankfully, there is a great section covering gardens and all things that grow. I think I need to pay extra close attention to this chapter since I have a "black thumb" and cannot grow anything to save my life! I hope to change that, though, since I would love nothing more than cultivating our own veggie and herb garden one day! My kids absolutely love this book, even though they're not quite old enough to really "read" much of it on their own. Sophie can read bits and pieces, and loves looking at all the great pictures. While this Almanac is great for kids of all ages, we use it as a family learning tool of sorts. We love getting together with all 3 kids and picking one section to learn about as a family. The kids get very excited, and always have a ton of questions. My husband and I are learning more about the world around us, too! Overall, I would definitely recommend checking out the 2015 National Geographic Kids Almanac. This is a great educational resource, but it's written and presented in a way that truly makes learning and exploring fun. After all, learning should be enjoyable, right? If you're looking for a great way to keep kids engaged, entertained, and educated this summer, definitely be sure to pick up a copy! My kids are curious about geography. We recently went on a road trip to Northwestern Ontario (family related) and on the way saw the big rocks on the sides of the road. My daughter asked why they were red and I really couldn't tell her! lol We saw the Sleeping Giant of Thunder Bay and alot of other awesome views of Ontario, Canada. :)
