![]() I am a big believer in taking vitamins and other nutritional supplements to achieve maximum well-being. I have been taking numerous formulations daily for years, and I truly do notice a marked improvement in so many different areas. My hair and nails are in better shape due to some supplements, while others have helped to improve energy, mental clarity, memory, and emotional well-being. I started seriously looking into dietary supplements a few years back while my husband and I were trying to conceive our daughter. We experienced what is known as secondary infertility, and while things seemed hopeless at times, I began making certain lifestyle changes to help improve our chances. I started exercising more, balancing my carbs and proteins properly, and I began taking supplements. Within 6 months of doing these things religiously, we were pregnant. One of the supplements I have taken every day since is fish oil. The Omega 3 antioxidants and DHA found in fish oil are said to improve so many different areas, including but not limited to: cardiovascular health, brain and joint health, and may even help combat the signs of aging! While I have taken these supplements every day, there is one thing that has made taking fish oil one of my least favorite things in the world to do: Fish burps. Yep. When you take fish oil supplements, they can make you belch, and these burps taste very, very "fishy." This might be okay for some, but when you don't like the taste of most seafood, this can be quite off-putting. And these awful burps can sometimes persist for hours! They've even made me vomit before because I couldn't handle the taste in my mouth and throat. That's why I was so excited to learn about Everest Nutrition Krill Oil. Krill Oil, like traditional fish oil, contains Omega 3's and DHA. However, Everest Nutrition Krill Oil contains more Omega 3 Fatty Acids and 54x more antioxidant power than traditional fish oils. And since their krill are farmed in the pristine waters of Antarctica and are at the bottom of the food chain, there is no worry about mercury or harmful PCBs affecting the quality of the product. So naturally, Krill Oil sounds so much more appealing than other Omega 3 and DHA supplements. What can Krill Oil do for you? Well, aside from the cardio and brain benefits you've already known about for ages, there are some other, more surprising benefits that can be found in Krill Oil. Are you evil, grumpy, or just plain mean one week out of the month? Do your husband and kids run for the hills until Mommy goes back to "normal"? Yes...You know where I am heading with this: PMS. When I get PMS, it can be awful. I experience physical symptoms like headaches, bloating, and a general "icky" feeling. I find myself reaching for over-the-counter pain relievers to combat these symptoms. I also suffer emotional symptoms as well. I get bitchy, irritable, weepy, and am no fun to be around at all. Well, studies have shown that women who take a Krill Oil supplement actually have less PMS symptoms and require less pain medication than women who do not! Another benefit worth mentioning is the fact that Krill Oil has also been shown to improve cholesterol levels. I don't have high cholesterol, but this is something we all need to be mindful of as we age. Krill Oil has been shown to have a much better effect on improving these levels than traditional Omega 3 supplements. Add to that the fact that Krill Oil is wonderful for the hair, skin and nails, and can even help fight wrinkles, and you've got one powerful product! But there's more to love about Krill Oil! For one, those nasty fish burps? A thing of the past. When taking Krill Oil, you won't experience any of the unpleasant side effects that fish oil can cause. No gas, upset tummy, diarrhea, or disgusting fish burps! Another benefit? Krill Oil absorbs much faster, due to a similar structure as human fat cells. There are no conversions to be made once you ingest the supplement, so maximum benefits are achieved.
I have replaced my fish oil supplements with Everest Nutrition's Krill Oil, and have been taking these supplements for a couple of weeks now. I really like the fact that they're easy to swallow, and I have had absolutely no embarrassing side effects at all. No bad breath, nasty fish burps, and I can even take these on an empty stomach without having any cramping. It even did help reduce the severity of my PMS, which my husband is quite thankful for. Overall, I would definitely recommend making the switch to Krill Oil. Not only is taking krill a much more pleasant experience than taking traditional fish oil supplements, the benefits found in these supplements are much more potent as well. Krill Oil is a fantastic choice for anyone who wants to maximize their overall sense of well-being.
