***Disclosure: This post is part of a sponsored campaign with Global Influence. As always, all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Many of my favorite childhood memories involved ice cream. More importantly, they involved my Grandma. You see, I have the most amazing Grandma in the universe, and we always loved going to see her. She's the kind of Grandma that would let us stay up till 3:00AM playing board games, and we were even allowed to watch MTV whenever we felt like it. You know...Back when MTV actually played music. Every time we would go to Grandma's house, she would have some Cookies & Cream Ice Cream waiting for us, as well as soft drinks and her almost-famous chicken burgers. Those chicken burgers are amazing, since she gets her meat specially ground at a local butcher. Thankfully, my Grandma is still around, and now my babies get to enjoy these magical trips to visit their Great-Grandma. And of course, she still offers plenty of goodies, including loads and loads of ice cream! It must be a prerequisite that grandparents spoil their grandkids. Every time we head up to Grandma's house, which happens to be just a couple blocks from the shores of Lake Erie, she has cakes, cookies, and ice cream, ready to be devoured by hungry little people. The last time we were there was on my birthday, and Grandma definitely didn't disappoint! The kids had enough cake and ice cream that day to celebrate 10 birthdays! And of course, they loved every moment of it. There's something extra special about ice cream that comes from Grandma. Even though it's the same ice cream I purchase in my home, it never tastes quite as good as it does at her house. I think it's the love that she serves with it that makes all the difference! I am so grateful that we made the decision to leave Virginia behind forever and move to my home state of Ohio. I am glad that my kids will know their great-grandparents, and all the other family members who live here. If you want to experience some ice cream magic of your own, but don't have a Grandma like mine down the road, you can head to your local Walgreens and pick up all of those favorites. They have Fruttare bars, which I love, love, LOVE, decadent Magnum ice cream, Klondike Bars, and Breyers Ice Cream. They even have Popsicles, if you're looking for less cream and more fruity goodness.
Grabbing ice cream at Walgreens is so convenient, especially when you don't want to venture out all the way to the grocery store, find parking, etc. So head on over to Walgreens and make some ice cream memories of your own! What are your favorite ice cream memories? I'd love to hear all about them!
