I'm sure I do....Who doesn't love a happily wagging tail or a sweet little purr?! As you might already know, I have a zoo. Literally. We have 4 cats and 3 dogs. They're itty-bitty purse dogs, though, so maybe that kind of equals one large dog? Anyway, we are definitely animal lovers, and our pets are an irreplaceable part of our family. So when I got the chance to check out a brand new movie, "My Dog the Champion" from Anchor Bay Entertainment, I knew that we would love it. We enjoy having family movie nights, and this feel-good story is sure to please young and old alike. Plus, it features some of our favorite actors and actresses from Dexter, Hannah Montana, and The Terminator! About my Dog the champion: From the city to the country, families from coast-to-coast will experience an uplifting coming-of-age adventure when Anchor Bay Entertainment unleashes My Dog the Champion on DVD. The inspiring story of an unlikely friendship between a born-and-bred teenage city girl and a cattle dog, the new feature film starring Dora Madison Burge (“Dexter,” “Friday Night Lights,” Cowgirls ‘n Angels), Lance Henriksen(Aliens, The Terminator, Aliens vs. Predator) and Cody Linley (“Hannah Montana,” Cheaper by the Dozen) makes its national retail debut on February 4, 2014. A moving and meaningful story for the whole family, My Dog the Champion (SRP $24.98) begins when Madison (Burge), a spoiled city teen, learns that her mother is being deployed to Afghanistan. She is suddenly forced to uproot to the country and live on her grandfather Billy’s (Henriksen) cattle ranch – in the middle of nowhere. Facing the hardships of farm life and her feelings of loneliness, she befriends Scout, the farm’s old and “useless” cattle dog. The new companions quickly form a special bond. And when the family farm becomes threatened, Madison, with some help from Eli (Linley), a teenage dog trainer, trains Scout to be an agility champion and together they compete with the hope of saving their home. Side by side, the determined duo proves the heart of a champion never dies. My Dog the Champion, a story of friendship, love, teamwork, and challenges, is a must-have release for families nationwide. The film is executive produced by Arthur E. Benjamin, the founder of the American Dog Rescue, an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that works to rescue and promote the health and well-being of dogs and other animals all across the world. In addition, Scout, the movie’s starring dog, is herself a rescue! My Dog the Champion Street Date: February 4, 2014 Pre-Book: January 8, 2014 DVD Catalog #: AF00336 DVD UPC #: 01313261669881 Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1 Aspect Ratio: Anamorphic Subtitles: English SDH, Spanish Retail Price: $24.98 Genre: Action/Adventure, Family Rating: G Run Time: 87 Mins Year: 2013 Our Thoughts : We snuggled up on the couch with some fluffy blankets and hot cocoa and watched this movie a couple nights ago. It's rare that I find a film that everyone can enjoy. With 2 preschoolers and a teenager, their interests tend to be very, very different. My littles don't want to watch Lady Gaga and Kyle certainly isn't interested in movies geared towards very young children. My Dog the Champion is a heartwarming story that anyone can enjoy. It deals with real life issues that many teens and families have to face, such as having a parent deployed. This is something we've had to deal with in our own family. My Uncle Greg is in the USAF, and has served in Kuwait, Afghanistan, and is now in South Korea. So seeing Madison's mother head off to Afghanistan definitely hit home. I know first-hand from seeing my cousins miss their Dad that this is not at all easy. Madison leaves behind her cozy life in the city and heads out to her Grandpa Billy's cattle ranch. For a spoiled teen, this is a tough transition. The country life and hard work that comes with farming is not something Madison is accustomed to. She makes an unlikely friend who helps her, though. Scout is an old, "useless" cattle dog that everyone completely underestimates. But with a new-found companionship and a little faith, Scout proves that an old dog certainly can learn new tricks, and even save the day! I won't give away too much, since you'll want to see the movie and spoilers drive me absolutely bonkers. But I will say that this movie had me laughing, and I even shed a few tears along the way. I would definitely recommend "My Dog the Champion" for anyone who is passionate about their fur-babies. It's a great choice for Family Movie Nights, and will leave everyone longing for some slobbery doggy kisses. Plus, it is appropriate for all ages and has no questionable content whatsoever. That makes this movie a total winner in my opinion! This film hits the shelves on February 4, 2014. Check it out! Enter to WIN : I am thrilled to announce that one lucky reader will receive their very own DVD copy of "My Dog the Champion"!

Our dog is small, and with all the snow we have, we've had to shovel six times in the last two days for her.

Our little dog doesn't like it when someone new comes to stay for awhile or one of us goes away overnight. She wants everyone where they should be.

Our dog was a rescue dog. She was named Melissa after the lady that found her. We didn't want to completely change that but Melissa didn't fit her either. We decided on Missy. She is our little Missy girl.
