***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** I have to be honest here...I have been more than a little bit overwhelmed lately. The past month or so has been incredibly busy and stressful. First, I went on a trip for Step2, and ended up getting a massive ear infection while I was there, and was miserable and in pain the whole time. Then, not even 2 weeks later, I was off to LA for the Iron Man 3 premiere. On top of that, my 2 year old is proving on an epic scale that the Terrible 2's are no myth, my 3 year old is feeding off of HIS tantrums, and my teen is well...acting like a teen. Not to mention, my toddlers were fighting the other day, and spilled an entire cup of juice all over the keyboard of my MacBook Pro. Thankfully, we bought the extended warranty and hopefully it can be fixed or replaced. In the meantime, I am stuck blogging on my 13 year old's teeny, tiny netbook. I'm not gonna lie...This Mommy desperately needs a "time out". Yep. I said it. Those words are despised by my children, but I secretly wish I had more "me time" to be able to relax, diffuse, and just breathe. Shaving my legs in peace would be amazing, too, of course. Thankfully, there is a great new book that can help busy, often frazzled Moms like me find the time to renew, relax, and hopefully resist the urge to scream into a pillow. "Mommy Time-Out", by Feli Robles and Colleen Phillips is really a Mommy sanity-saver, since it includes tons of achievable ways to take a break from the craziness and focus on ME TIME for a bit. Whether it's going to the park without the kiddos, reading that book that has been on the shelf collecting dust for 6 months, or even sitting and doing absolutely nothing for once, this book has suggestions sure to make any Mommy happy. This book was inspired by a story the authors saw on Oprah. An overtired, stressed Mom accidentally left her 2 year old child in the car, and the results were nothing short of tragic. Sure, we all think this could never happen to us...We're responsible, loving parents, right? Well, sadly, this type of thing can happen to anyone, especially when stress is a factor. Accidents happen, but so many can be prevented by simply taking better care of YOU...After all, if Mommy is a hot mess and cannot focus or concentrate, she simply cannot care for her family to the best of her ability. That's kind of the point to this book....Moms should take care of their OWN needs, too! In doing so, the entire family benefits. While we'd all like to be SuperMom, realistically there is no such thing. We cannot take on the whole world while neglecting ourselves. Before we took on the amazing role of being mothers, we were women with needs. Well, we still are...Yes, really! Although it is easy to forget that sometimes, especially when you're sleep-deprived, covered in baby food, and trying to figure out what the goopy mystery substance on the carpet is! (Been there, done that!) One of the things I love the most about Mommy Time-Out is the pictures. This book, just like children's books, is easy to read and has lots of awesome pictures. This is great, since I don't always have hours and hours to spend engrossed in reading. This book is amazing whether you have 2 minutes or 2 hours. Another reason I am gaga over Mommy Time-Out is the fact that this book includes loads of interactive things like worksheets where you can list "Time Out" desires, as well as some really cute coupons that hubby or the kids can present to Mom when they want to give the gift of peace and quiet...Or a mani/pedi...Or a night without having to cook or do the dishes...Really, the possibilities are endless! Overall, I would definitely recommend Mommy Time-Out to any women out there who need to find ways to de-stress, unwind, and learn to appreciate and pamper themselves a little more. (Which is probably all of us, right?) This would also be a wonderful gift for Mother's Day, which is right around the corner! How to Connect : You can follow Mommy Time-Out on Facebook and Twitter. Being a full-time graduate student and a toddler, I get stressed often. I started a blog to help with that, I'm trying to reach out to other moms to have a supportive place. It's slow going. I take the bus to work so when I'm more stressed, I read a novel rather than something for work. Being outside and getting my hands dirty, gardening or playing with my son, is always relaxing. I'd love to get back into my scrapbooking, baking and crafting, but there's no time for that!

Hi Ruth J., this is Colleen of Mommy Time-Out. Those are some great MTO ideas, and yes, it does seem there is "no time" to take time for ourselves. We blog about that very thing and are even writing an article for a new magazine coming out in July called Glimpse Cali (we will post the article on our site as well) about “Finding Time For The Working Mom - and we know ALL moms are “Working”, right??

Often stressed out. For work issues, I try to work through them in my mind and come up with a plan when possible.

i am very stressed out. my 4 year old stepdaughter who lives with us full time and hasn't seen her mother in over a year and a half has large speech and develpmental delays. she can't even play on her own. i also have 2 older boys who have busy schedules that i try to keep up with and a 2 year old son who is a busy little monkey. I have to focus so much on her all day that i feel that i don't get to enjoy my other children. I try to walk or shop or just relax in general when i am stressed...hard to do.

I think everyone feels stressed. I recently had some last minute company staying at my house. Rushed around to get ready for them then had to do it all again after they left for my son coming in...very rushed and overwhelmed. Worked the rest of the week but I am taking this weekend off for me to just have a lazy day.

When my husband deploys I often feel over-whelmed, the work done by two is now done by one. It's an enormous amount of pressure and I just take it one day at a time.

Just an hour or two to myself each week would be a treat. I have an almost 3 year old and one on the way. I'm not looking forward to the sleep deprivation portion of having an infant but I know we'll make it. Hubby will need to just help out more.
