Anyone who knows me in real life knows that as far as women go, I am pretty low maintenance. I rarely go shopping for myself, I am happiest in yoga pants and a comfy tee, and I cannot tell you the last time I went to a salon and had my hair or nails professionally done. (Actually, I can tell you, but it was well before Sophie was even conceived!) And jewelry? Ha! With 3 kids to care for and one income, mama doesn't get gifted with bling. The only real jewelry I have is my wedding ring set, which my husband always points out is worth more than both of our vehicles combined. (We got a fantastic deal direct from the diamond mine, and had it custom made. It ended up appraising for 4 times what we paid for it!) Now don't get me wrong...I love jewelry. I really do. But I like pieces that are more sentimental than flashy. I am much more likely to gravitate towards one of those family pendants or a charm bracelet with my kids' names on it. I like simplicity, and I like things that are thoughtful. So I will leave the big, gaudy jewels for the Kardashian clan. I don't need them! (Although I would kill to have their genetics. I am still convinced they're not quite human...No one is that perfect all the time!) So when I discovered Metal Pressions, I was super excited. Not only can I get the beautiful, simple styled jewelry I love so much at an affordable price, I get to design it myself. There are options at every price point, and the design possibilities are basically endless. About Metal Pressions : "For as long as Elisha can remember she has been dabbling in all things crafty. Her forays into the handmade crafts and jewelry world started back in her college days with custom designed oil lamps that she sold to local shops. As time went on her horizons expanded into other types of crafts like stamping and scrapbooking. Around 10 years ago she was introduced into the world of hand stamped and handcrafted keepsake and photo jewelry by a close friend. Her skill and expertise developed quickly as did her passion for making beautiful jewelry. The Creation Process : Creating custom jewelry from Metal Pressions is actually a very easy process. They even offer a tutorial so you can familiarize yourself with their system before you begin creating that perfect piece of personalized jewelry. Once you're all set and have a design in mind, you simply go to create a new piece. You will be taken to their customization section, where you can choose elements to your creation, like chains, charms, and more. I chose a 20 inch silver cable and bead chain. Once you select a product, it appears on the screen so you can see your changes and customizations as they happen. Once I selected the chain, I decided to add a cute silver heart charm. There were a few hearts to choose from, and I liked this off-set design. For those who don't like all things sweet and mushy, there are other shapes to select from as well. Then came the tricky part....Deciding how to customize my necklace! After perusing all of the available personalization options, I decided to go with a simple symbol stamp rather than text. I chose the Zodiac Cancer symbol since my husband and I are both this astrological sign. (Our birthdays are 10 days apart.) So not only does it have sentimental significance, it's kind of neat looking, too! Once you are done creating your jewelry, you will see what it will look like. You will also receive e-mail production updates where you can confirm your design. The process of creating my very own hand stamped jewelry was very easy. I loved being able to see what different variations and styles looked like before I committed to a specific design. The Finished Product : Production time was super fast. My necklace arrived within about a week, and was packaged in a pretty little blue box, complete with a silvery bow. Now talk about making a gal feel special! My necklace was neatly packaged, and it even came with a handy polishing cloth. You know, to clean sticky fingerprints off of my pendant. Cause we all know that peanut butter and jewelry simply do not mix! Once I took my personalized necklace out of the box, I was delighted to see just how simple and beautiful it turned out. The silver is highly polished, and the chain is delicate and feminine looking. I loved how the stamped design contrasted against the sheen of the silver, too. Overall, I am thrilled with my Metal Pressions experience. I had never designed my own jewelry before, so it was definitely a treat! Not only is my new necklace absolutely gorgeous, the customer service and production speed were both amazing, too. I really appreciate being kept "in the loop" during the entire production process, and I felt like my order was truly important to the folks at Metal Pressions. I would definitely recommend Metal Pressions to anyone who loves giving (or receiving) unique gifts that come from the heart. If necklaces aren't your style, be sure to check out their rings, bracelets, key rings and more. They also have options in gold of all colors, as well as gemstones. There are so many products to choose from, so you're bound to find something for everyone! How to Connect : You can check out the awesomeness that is Metal Pressions on their website. You can also connect with them on Facebook and on twitter to stay on top of their latest products and promotions! Enter to WIN : I am thrilled to announce that one lucky reader will receive a $50 Gift Certificate to Metal Pressions!
