***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Sophie and Xander both love hands-on learning toys. They seem to have a lot more fun when learning is incorporated with play time. My little ones are 3 and 4 years old, and we work daily on skills like reading, writing, ABC's and 123's. They're smart little cookies, and my 4 year old even knows how to read! So when I received the MEGA BLOKS First Builders 1-2-3 Learning Train, I knew they would be absolutely thrilled! They love building with their MEGA BLOKS toys, and they also love trains. We live right near a train track, and when the train comes through town and toots its whistle, they clap and smile and think it's coming to see them! (Yes, they watch the train cartoons on TV!) The MEGA BLOKS First Builders 1-2-3 Learning Train arrived very well-packaged, and includes all the pieces needed to build a cheerful train as well as a train station! There are also stickers with numbers, sequences, etc that help bring learning into this neat locomotive toy. As you can see, this train is absolutely adorable. My husband built it since they kids are too little to really follow the instructions. The neat thing about this toy is that you can match pieces according to number, color, or sequence. So if a child sees and identifies a number, they can then find a piece that looks like a dice, and match it to the correct number. Pretty neat, right? They'll be counting before you know it with the 1-2-3 Learning Train! Sophie and Xander went nuts when they saw this toy. Sophie, being the proper little lady she is, sat down and started "driving" the train in and out of the train station. Nice and slow, making sure not to knock anything down or "wreck" as she put it. She also excitedly pointed out all of the numbers on the train, and even counted some of the "dice" pieces, matching the numbers to one another. Wow, my little girl is a smarty-pants. She did this on her own, and we didn't need to tell her to! Xander on the other hand is a bit of a rebel. Sure he liked the train. He thought the numbers and counting activities were a lot of fun, too. But what did Xander want to do? He wanted to build. So what was a train ended up being a "train tower building". That's what he called it, at least! Xander had a lot of fun building a tall, tall tower on the train, and then drove it around our family room. He thought it was funny to chase around the cats while yelling "Choo-Choo!". For some reason, I don't think the kitties agreed! Overall, we love the MEGA BLOKS First Builders 1-2-3 Learning Train. This is a great way to teach little ones a number of skills from color and number recognition, matching, counting, and sequencing. My kids already know these skills for the most part, but this would be a wonderful beginning product for older babies and toddlers. The folks at MEGA BLOKS really hit it out of the park with this toy. It really does make learning fun! And in my opinion, kids retain knowledge better when they're interested and engaged. Definitely check it out! How to Connect :You can check out the awesomeness that is MEGA BLOKS on their website.

I love MegaBloks, because they're chunkier and easier to small hands to grasp. And this train looks adorable!

Our son loved MegaBloks when he was littler, he is now 13 and still has a huge box of them in his room. He still pulls them out every once in a while and builds something with them...last time it was a little house for his new kitten :)
