***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my post. No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Do you suffer from migraines? I do on occasion. The worst migraine I ever had in my life happened a few years ago. We were living in Northern Virginia, which was headache enough in my opinion, and there was a pretty powerful earthquake that hit. I believe it was a 5.9, and the epicenter was only about 15 miles from my house. Needless to say, the entire house violently shook, things flew off of shelves and walls and broke, and I was thrown across the room. This quake must have shook me up in a bad way, because I had the worst, most persistent migraine of my life for an entire week afterwards. It was terrible, and I could hardly function. It turns out I am incredibly sensitive to barometric pressure changes, and was not the only person in my area to experience this odd side effect. Thankfully, since I am prone to migraines, I have an arsenal of things to help ease the pain. In addition to Excedrin Migraine, I often use aromatherapy, massagers, and holistic remedies. One place I know I can always find things to help soothe the pounding of a migraine is Medical Arts Press. This is an online superstore of sorts, and they offer everything from medical office supplies to snacks and coffee, and yes, things to help soothe migraine pain like BIOFREEZE, personal massagers and more! Recently, the awesome folks at Medical Arts Press sent me some of their top-selling pain reliever, BIOFREEZE, to check out for myself. This product is absolutely amazing. It's a cold therapy gel used for arthritis, back and muscle pain, as well as stiff joints. BIOFREEZE contains proven ingredients like menthol, Arnica, and Aloe. (So yes, it's soothing to the skin as well and won't cause dryness or irritation when used as directed.) I love the fact that BIOFREEZE contains so many ingredients from Mother Nature. If you know me, you are probably well aware of the fact that I am a bit of a "hippie" and much prefer natural and holistic remedies whenever I can help it. It's also Paraben-free and has a vanishing scent. You know... In case you don't necessarily want to run around smelling like a candy cane. I received the BIOFREEZE in Gel form. It's a bit thick, but no worries. This soothing gel absorbs into the skin rather quickly and leaves behind no icky residue. It's very cooling, and goes right to work on aches and pains. Of course you won't want to apply this to open wounds or near mucous membranes. (That's just common sense, though.) My husband, who suffers from severe back pains at times, absolutely fell in love with BIOFREEZE. He said that he starts feeling relief in mere seconds. This product has definitely helped him fall and stay asleep quicker, and he seems to wake up more rested since he's not in pain, tossing and turning all night long. Overall, I am liking what I see from Medical Arts Press. No, I don't work in a medical or dental office. But my family can benefit from so many of their offerings from printer ink and paper, toiletries and cleaning supplies, and of course, all of the first aid related items. With a teen boy and 2 rambunctious preschoolers, a properly stocked first aid kit is a must! So if you're looking for some great office supplies or just some basic necessities for your family, I would absolutely recommend checking out Medical Arts Press! Honestly I am constantly plagued with migraines. I have cut my hair short and don't pull it back so that I don't put pressure on my scalp. I avoid places I know will have a lot of perfumes, colognes, and other chemical/strong smells. I can't be around florescent lighting too long or I start to develop an ocular migraine. I avoid eating out because most restaurants use MSG and other preservative chemicals and artificial sweeteners... Basically I spend so much effort trying to avoid migraine 'triggers' that sometimes I feel like I am living a secluded life! :(

My daughter has migraines sometimes. She's tried prescriptions but a dark, quiet room and trying to sleep helps.

If I am away from home when a migraine hits, a Dr Pepper and a snickers bar usually pumps me with enough caffeine to quiet it

I am on medication for my migraines. I had a migraine 5 years ago that triggered a brain aneurism and was in a coma for 3 weeks. I was very lucky to have survived it with just some short term memory problems.

I use 'thumper'--a percussion massager--right on my head and neck. I when they are really bad, I lie in bed with the room dark and quiet and put the massager on my head and just leave it there for at least twenty minutes, often more. It has an amazing effect! If I am desperate, I take Solpadeine, a European pain reliever that contains codeine It works in minutes!

I get migranes at least once a week that last 12-24 hours, it is pure hell. The only thing that works is putting an ice pack on my head, and I wrap it on with a scarf to be fashionable. I can't believe that what I go through doesn't count as "chronic" migranes, and as such isn't treated as important by any doctor I've seen!

My sister gets debilitating migraines. She is treated by a specialist, taking medication, she gets injections regularly, massages and some sort of electro therapy. She does even more than that, that I don't remember. I'm sure she hasn't tried this. I would love to help alleviate her pain.

I deal with headaches by massaging my head, neck and shoulders if it's a light one or just coming on. I have to take something for it if it's too strong or not going away. Sometimes I rest for a bit but it can make it better or worse if I haven't taken anything.

When I feel a migraine coming on I try and dim all the lights and make sure there is no loud music or noise. If I can I try and lay on the couch with a cool compress on my forehead.
