Do your kids run and hide when it's time to floss? I know mine sure do. Or did, I should say. They were fine with brushing, and had a great routine down. Adding flossing to the mix didn't go quite as smoothly as we had hoped, so Sophie and Xander always try to avoid it.
The complaints we got from the kids about flossing are that it's hard to wrap floss around their little fingers and maneuver it properly in their mouths, or they would say that it just tasted funny. When kids say something tastes funny, that's usually serious business. Luckily, we discovered Plackers, and now my kids actually look forward to flossing. Well, as much as they can, at least. There's no more fighting, and now flossing tastes like fruity deliciousness.
Plackers® is helping parents establish healthy dental care habits for their kids in a fun way with its new Fruit Smoothie Swirl Kids’ Flossers, designed with a unique dual grip handle making them easy for kids of all ages to use and allowing parents to assist. The kid-friendly fruit smoothie flavor is sure to be a hit and helps make flossing a fun – and tasty – task.
Xander and Sophie are only 5 and 6, so they have teeny little hands. They were really excited to try Plackers Kids' Flossers not only because they come in fun colors, but also because they're small enough to use. These are literally the perfect size for little hands, and they aren't at all overwhelming for little ones to use. They're really easy to grip, too!
Another way to make flossing extra fun with Plackers is by getting a Flosser Friend! This adorable monkey is bright, cheerful, and holds all of your flossers in one easy place. This would look so adorable in your kids' bathroom, don't you agree?
You can check out Plackers products on their website.

Being a pediatric dental assistant, I made sure my daughter started "brushing" even with her very first tooth. Now she's almost 5 and still LOVES brushing flossing and mouthwash 2x a day.

Now they have good flavored toothpaste for kids. If I had little ones, I'd try that.

We try to make it fun and play music while we are brushing....always brush till the end of the song as we dance along! The dentist wants us to try to teach him to floss now...this would be perfect!

I really don't have too much trouble getting dd to brush morning and night...it's the flossing we have trouble with because her teeth are so close together, it's hard to get floss between them without it hurting her gums! I don't know how they do it at the dentist!!

I like the toothbrushes that play music. I think it's timed so the kids know how long to brush. It's a good idea.

Oh I think the biggest part of teaching them is by teaching by example. We try to have fun with it and buy fun products to help it along! These are so adorable and a great way to teach kids to floss! I think our little one would love them! He is not a fan of flossing...this might help!

I get our kids to practice good dental hygiene by trying to educate them on the importance of taking care of their teeth. They also enjoy picking out their toothbrushes.

I like to put on their favorite CD while they brush and floss. They do it longer so they can hear all of their songs.
