You know those Facebook quizzes that seem to be going around like wildfire? You know...The ones that ask things like "What Color Is Your Aura?" or "Who Were You In A Past Life"? Well, when I am bored-or a kid is sleeping on my lap and I cannot move-I take these quizzes. They're cheesy, but they're fun; and I always love seeing which results I get and how accurate they are.
A lot of these quizzes give me the same exact result...Apparently, I am a Hippie. Not that this is a bad thing, of course. In fact, I think the quizzes that call me a Flower Child just may be onto something. I love classic rock like The Doors and The Beatles, I do own tie-dyed apparel and accessories, and I believe in attachment parenting. So naturally, Hippie is a label I will proudly wear.
So recently, when I got the opportunity to review an accent rug from Madison at Main, I was absolutely thrilled to see that they offer a rug that totally matches my Hippie Chick personality. They have rugs to match any style, actually, whether you're looking for a kids' room or for a much more formal setting. Country chic? Modern and vibrant? Delicate florals? Sure! The folks at Madison at Main have all of your bases covered. They have 2 different lines to choose from as well: The Jellybean line which I am featuring today as well as their Homefires line.
I found this very retro-looking Jellybean Peace & Love Big Bean Rug and fell in love right away. I just love the vibrant colors and fun, Hippie-inspired design. I have a sneaking suspicion that this rug is geared more towards tween and teen girls, but I decided it would be the perfect rug for our back door. We have French doors, and then an ancient, ugly wood section that desperately needs to be replaced.
Since this comes from their Jellybean line, this rug is machine washable, and "washes better than your jeans." Perfect for a highly-trafficked entry way! The colors are meant to withstand many, many washes, and don't fade even when exposed to sunlight. And, to top it all off, this rug is weather-resistant and designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Pretty awesome, right?
We use ours indoors, but I can already tell this pretty little rug is tough. I have 2 preschoolers and multiple pets, so messes happen. Sophie spilled her juice all over the rug one day, and I almost panicked. I quickly tossed it into the wash, and it looked brand new. No trace of grape juice at all!
My pets also love to torture this rug. (The kitties especially.) my cat, Pringles, has been caught scratching at it a few times, and I was delighted to see that the rug remained intact and she didn't pull any threads loose.
Overall, I am loving my Jellybean rug from Madison at Main. It's extremely durable, vibrantly colored, and offers a fun design that totally matches my personality. Add to that the fact that I can toss it into the wash? Major, major brownie points. I would definitely recommend checking out the amazing selection of area and accent rugs at Madison at Main. I guarantee you'll find something perfect for your home, too!
