Love Animals? You Might Be #Noseblind #Febreze Giveaway ARV:$200 Plus #Stinkface Instagram Sweeps2/24/2015 ***Disclosure: This post and giveaway were made possible by Double Duty Divas and Febreze. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.*** Do you have four-legged members in your family? We sure do. We actually have a bit of a zoo over here. We have multiple cats, as well as dogs. Small dogs, though. But when it comes to stink, my hypoallergenic little pups don't really produce that familiar doggie stench pet lovers love to hate. We do have the occasional accident, though, since little dogs tend to be easily excited with itty-bitty bladders. Not a good combination. Thank God for carpet shampooers! The kitties? Well, the produce a whole lot more stink, in my opinion. Between litter boxes, cat gak, and the occasional temper tantrum that involves in pooping and/or peeing outside of the box, having multiple cats in the home can definitely produce a pretty odiferous funk. Cat waste smells bad. Very, very bad. I adore my felines, but I definitely gag at the thought of the odors they produce sometimes. Did you know that many pet lovers become blind to the pet odors in their home? Yes, you can actually become #Noseblind to odors that you are surrounded by on a daily basis. You lose any sensitivity to them, as they are your "normal". That means that you won't smell what others do when they enter your home. Yikes. I cringe at the thought of anyone coming over to my home to visit. I am always so paranoid that the first thing they'd be hit with is the stench of my cats. Noseblindness occurs in 2 different scenarios: • Odor adaptation is a decrease in ability to sense odors subsequent to initial exposure, and odor habituation. For example, when entering a restaurant, initially the odor of food is often perceived as being strong, but after time the awareness of the odor fades where the smell is not perceptible or the intensity is weaker. • Odor habituation is when you get used to the odors in your everyday life. You probably don’t notice the odor of your home when you come back from work ... but it’s a different story when you return from vacation. Right? That’s odor habituation. Luckily, we depend on Febreze products to help combat being noseblind. These products help to neutralize offending odors in the home, leaving a nice, clean, fresh scent. They work on fabrics as well as in the air. I love the fact that Febreze neutralizers odors rather than just masking them. This provides a longer-lasting fresh effect, as well as a quick solution for those times when guests show up unexpectedly. Febreze Loves Pet Owners! Febreze has teamed up with actor and comedian Jane Lynch and the ASPCA to encourage dialogue about a naturally occurring condition that affects many (if not most) pet owners: noseblindness. Noseblindness can affect anyone, but it shouldn’t keep people from adopting pets – or their guests from coming over. Febreze’s Air Effects, Fabric Refresher and Car Vent Clip products meet the standard for inclusion on the ASPCA’s Pet Friendly Living list, so you can be sure your pets are safe when you’re using Febreze. For almost 150 years, the ASPCA has been the nation’s leading voice for animals. In order to use the ASPCA Pet Friendly Living logo, product ingredients must be reviewed by the ASPCA and be deemed to be non-toxic to animals when used as directed.
