Okay, so I have some very exciting news! I am now working with Little Tikes! I am very excited about this partnership. Not only does Little Tikes offer some amazing products that promote active, creative play, they're also made right here in the state of Ohio! Their headquarters is actually only about 20 minutes from my house. Ohio produces some pretty amazing stuff, myself included. (Gotta show my hometown pride!) Pretty cool, right?
I have to admit, I am totally new to Little Tikes. I had a long term partnership with a competitor, and I tend to be very brand loyal. When working closely with one brand, I tend to stick with them. That partnership has ended, so now I am able to expand my horizons and see if the grass is greener on the other side. As a former brand ambassador for a competitor who shall not be named, I was very eager to compare the overall quality between them and Little Tikes, hoping that Little Tikes would live up to the high standards for children's products I have grown accustomed to over the past 4 years.
Unfortunately, there won't be much comparing I will be able to do this time, since the product I am featuring is unlike anything the brand-who-shall-not-be-named carries. I am not featuring a climber, picnic table, toy box, wagon, or art desk. This is bigger, better, and SO much more fun! That's right....I want to tell you all about the ultimate in summer fun, the Little Tikes Slam 'N' Curve Slide!
The Slam 'N' Curve Slide is a fabulous product that brings the fun and thrills of a waterpark to your own backyard. Talk about convenient! With a 3 year old and a 4 year old, going to the waterpark can leave a lot to be desired. Someone inevitably gets tired or cranky, so we often have to cut our visit short. The Slam 'N' Curve Slide offers us the perfect solution, since we're only a few short steps from the house and don't have to pay admission fees to enter our yard.
Before I show you how much fun my kids are having with this product, please allow me to share all the specifications and details. Cause, you know...Details like that are important to consider when contemplating a purchase.

Our At-Home Waterpark Experience :
It has been quite rainy here in NE Ohio lately, with a few super-nice days peppered in-between the stormy days. Since the kids were starting to get cabin fever, therefore driving me absolutely insane, I was thrilled the first time we were able to have a "Water Fun Day", as the kids called it.
The Slam 'N' Curve slide comes packaged in a surprisingly small box. Since this is a larger product, it does weigh about 50lbs. So if you have a hard time lifting heavy boxes, make sure you have a strapping teen boy like mine on hand to carry it for you.
This slide is made from a very heavy duty and durable nylon material that is super-strong and resistant to rips and tears. It's not at all flimsy, and obviously designed to withstand the use (and abuse) of active children. That's right, folks, this baby is made to last! Little Tikes is scoring some serious brownie points based on quality of construction alone.
Now you might be wondering how something that fits in a medium sized box turns into a gigantic water attraction. It's inflatable! Included with your purchase is this compact yet powerful blower motor. This little guy works hard to provide enough air to keep the Slam 'N' Curve Slide perfectly inflated and able to support a whopping 350lbs.
Setting this slide up was really easy, and only took a few minutes. There are stakes to anchor both the slide and the blower into place, offering kids a secure place to play.
Once the stakes are in place, simply use your garden hose to fill the pool and create a sprayer jet for the slide, inflate, and go! Yes, it's really that simple. If only everything else in life was....
As you can see, this is a LARGE product. To support 350lbs of kid, it would have to be! However, it is compact enough to easily fit into smaller yards. My backyard isn't huge by any means, and we already have a playground, fire pit, hammock, swing, and picnic tables set up. So there's not a whole lot of available space. This product measures about 168.00''L x 108.00''W x 84.00''H, making it large enough for epic fun but small enough that it doesn't overtake the whole yard. The folks at Little Tikes obviously put a lot of thought into making a product that can be used by pretty much anybody with a yard. Again, major brownie points. I think this brand is definitely growing on me!
My kids had absolutely zero patience when we were setting up the Slam 'N' Curve slide. As soon as mommy got done taking too many pictures, they raced on over and started playing immediately.
One thing we really love about this slide is that is truly allows kids to be active. There's a challenging "rock wall" that little ones must climb in order to access the slide. Here are Sophie and Xander navigating their way to the top. Even Xander, who is only 3 and a half, was able to easily climb this wall.
Once your child has conquered the climbing wall, they will reach the top of the slide. There's a little platform at the top that's left open so kids can shout back and forth to one another or enjoy the scenery from this high vantage point. My kids felt like they were very high up, probably because they're so little!
There's a spraying water jet at the top that ensures a quick and slippery ride down the curved slide. After all, what is a waterslide if there's no water?! Here's Xander hugging the wall of the slide as he raced down it. Since this product is very firm and stable, leaning against the wall didn't affect the structural integrity at all.
Next it was Sophie's turn. She had been patiently waiting for the rain to stop for a couple of weeks, so she made sure to let out an extra loud squeal and she zipped down the slide for the first time. Check out that huge grin! I guess it was more than worth the wait!
Even Kyle, my 14 year old, was able to enjoy this slide. He is not a tiny kid, either! He's about 5'7" or 5'8" and weighs about 155lbs. Sure, it was a little more awkward for a kid his size to climb the wall, but it definitely didn't stop him from trying. That being said, this product is specifically designed for children roughly between that ages of 5-10 years. We all seem to be just outside of that age range, but with proper supervision, it works out well anyway. And of course any time there's water and climbing involved, proper adult supervision is just common sense, in my opinion.
At the bottom of the slide, kids will enjoy enjoying a splash landing into the relaxing pool. The walls of this product are high enough that a child won't go flying out, by the way. They will stay contained within the pool. Now this pool is not deep, so there won't be any swimming, but there's plenty of room to splash, sit, and horse around in the water.
Xander, my 3 year old, is a little booger. He decided he wanted to grab his huge squirt gun and spray his brother and sister as they reach the bottom of the slide. Pretty darn sneaky, don't you agree?
Here he is, blasting Kyle with a huge stream of water. With Kyle being so big and poor Xander being so little, he has to find creative ways like this to finally have the upper-hand over his teenage brother.
If the slide, wall, and pool weren't enough reason to pick up one of these babies, there's also water basketball! There is a soft, inflatable hoop built right into the wall, and included is an inflatable basketball, which is sized perfectly for little hands.
Sophie and Xander appreciated the generously sized hoop since it was fairly easy for them to make it into the basket. This kept it fun for them rather than frustrating them because it's too hard.
Kyle even played some basketball and even slam-dunked himself! (Since this is a flexible hoop that's filled with air, he was able to easily shimmy himself in!)
The kids spent hours and hours playing in their Little Tikes Slam 'N'Curve Slide. Even when the breeze picked up and their little lips started shivering and turning blue, they didn't want to take a break. That says a lot for the fun level of this product since my kids hate being cold.
Overall, I am absolutely in love with the Slam 'N' Curve Slide from Little Tikes. In fact, I think I am falling in love with this brand. For someone who was fairly unfamiliar with their product line, this was an amazing introduction. I am absolutely blown away by the ease of use, quality, and durability of this product. Most of all, I am delighted with the smiles it brings to my kids' faces. This makes me look forward to purchasing more Little Tikes products for my family. They have so much to offer, too! One thing I particularly love is thePicnic on the Patio Playhouse. This will definitely be at the top of my quickly growing Little Tikes wish list!
So if you're looking for a great way to stay cool this summer while keeping kids active this summer, definitely check out the Little Tikes Slam 'N' Curve Slide. This is truly a product that the whole family can enjoy.
