***Disclosure: As a Cedar Point Blogger, I receive admission to the park and to special events, as well as information to share. As always, all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** The 4th of July is over now, and I'm sure that loads of folks are taking it easy today after a fun-filled day full of BBQ, friends and family, and of course, fireworks. I absolutely loved seeing so many great photos on Facebook and Instagram showing how my pals celebrated the day. We celebrated, too, but this year, our 4th of July celebration was extra-special. Why? Because we were VIP Guests at Cedar Point for their fabulous Light Up the Point event! (You can read more about this special event HERE.) After a day enjoying rides and attractions, we headed to the beautiful Cedar Point Beach for a special celebration that only America's Roller Coast could pull off. Right on the shores of Lake Erie, we were treated to a celebration that was suitable for royalty. We had a wonderful, beach view of both the lake and some great Cedar Point rides, 2 of which I'm too scared to get on....for now. I'm working on facing those fears. Here, you can see both the maXair and the Wicked Twister. I get shivers just thinking about them. If there are any extreme thrill-seekers out there, these rides are a MUST. I'll work up some bravery, and I will go on at least ONE of these two terrifying rides next visit. That's a promise! Loads of excited park-goers set up blankets on the beach in anticipation for a great fireworks show. Sophie and Xander had a great time playing in the soft, white sands. Sophie even took her sandals off so she could feel it between her toes. This is what memories are made of, folks! The kiddos were ready to plop down and sit in the sand, but we had a surprise for them. There would be no need to sit in the sand. Not today. We were VIP Guests, which meant that we'd have seats in a special area on the beach, as well as fun, light-up necklaces, an all you can eat burger and brats buffet, and more. Boy, were they excited! They felt like they were really important sitting in their chairs. It was so cute to see their excitement as we eagerly awaited nightfall. As we settled into our seats, we decided to check out the FOOD. What's a 4th of July celebration without food, after all? The generous folks at Cedar Point had a wonderful spread of summer favorites for their VIP Guests. This included all you can eat burgers, hot dogs, and brats. There were also chips and an assortment of drinks available. We chowed down, right there on the beach, while we chatted with other guests. It was a lot of fun, and a wonderful way to set the mood for this special celebration. The kids had bellies full of burgers and dogs, and they were ready for the fireworks to light up the point! We got our 3D glasses ready, and patiently awaited the dark of night. We could hear so much excitement around us, between other guests, great tunes on blast, and even the screams of people riding the maXair and Wicked Twister. Soon, everyone began taking their seats. The show was about to begin! It was really neat being able to see red and blue lights flashing on the beach, thanks to our light-up necklaces. As you can see, the kids were in full, Patriot mode with their red and blue necklaces and 3D glasses. It was adorable to see them rave about how funny things looked through these magical lenses. The maXair was lit up, and the kids were watching it in absolute wonder. They said it looked like a crazy kaleidoscope through their 3D glasses. If they were that excited about watching the lights on a ride, I knew the fireworks display would totally WOW them! At 10:30PM on the dot, we witnessed something spectacular..... Something amazingly beautiful.... With loud cheers, BOOMS, and patriotic tunes playing in the background, we witnessed Cedar Point Light Up the Point. This was a glorious sight to behold. There were so many colors and sounds, and my children were in absolute awe of the whole experience. You see, they have never been to a "real" fireworks show up until this point. Not up close and personal, anyway. Xander was terrified of fireworks for the longest time, so we would simply watch them from a great distance on our deck. The kids could still see them, but we were far from the loud booms and the crowds. Needless to say, this was a fantastic way to properly introduce fireworks to the kids to show them what they've been missing. Xander is no longer scared of them, either, so we're pretty happy about that! Overall, we had the best 4th of July celebration EVER at America's Roller Coast, Cedar Point! Not only is this amusement park the best in the world, in my humble opinion, their hospitality and enthusiasm for their guests is second to none.
Thank you so much, Cedar Point, for allowing my family to be your guests as we celebrate the most American holiday of all!
