***Disclosure: “I participated in a Blogger Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kidoodle.TV. I received a promotional item and a free trial as a thank you for participating.”*** I have a confession to make....I am "THAT Mom"....You know, the one who is super-strict and monitors everything her kids do, watch, and listen to. My teen doesn't always appreciate this, but he understands that as a parent, it's my responsibility to make sure my kiddos are safe and aren't being influenced by things that are beyond their emotional and mental stages. I don't allow my teen to watch anything with sexual content, drug use, or extreme violence. This also rolls over to video games and music choices. He is almost 14, so usually the parental controls on our TV are more than adequate for filtering out the "nasties" as I call them. But I also have 2 preschoolers. Sophie will be 4 on New Year's Eve, and Xander will be 3 just 2 weeks later. (Yes, this makes for an insanely hectic Holiday season!) I have found that for my younger kids, I cannot always rely on parental controls. Sometimes things I don't approve of show up even in supposedly "kid-friendly" programming. That's why I was so excited to discover Kidoodle.TV. This is a great service that provides age-appropriate children's programming that can be completely customized to each user. Kidoodle.TV can be used on Apple mobile devices such as the iPad and iPhone, and it can also be used on laptops or desktop computers. I love the fact that they offer a mobile app, as it is a lifesaver during long car rides! Kidoodle.TV is simple to set up, and parents can create profiles for multiple children. It's fun, since you can choose an avatar and even color schemes for each child! Parents are in complete control of their children's viewing experience using Kidoodle.TV. You can even set a timer so kids don't get indefinitely sucked into watching TV, turning into little zombies. Parents can also choose which Kidoodle.TV programs they approve of, and restrict programming they're not so crazy about. As you can see, I am not a huge fan of GI Joe, so I have turned these programs off so my kids won't be able to watch them. When your child logs into their personalized Kidoodle.TV profile, they can select episodes of their favorite shows and they can also see all of the latest content available. This definitely comes in handy, since often times little ones get bored of seeing the same episodes over and over again. The folks at Kidoodle.TV are really good at keeping their system current and fresh, and they offer a wide variety of programming options that are sure to please any child. I love the fact that this service offers shows I used to watch as a kid. There's Super Mario Bros., Inspector Gadget, Madeline, Jem and the Holograms, and even Sonic the Hedgehog! There are also great features from National Geographic, including fun CritterCam features for kids who love seeing nature, up close and personal. So what are my kids watching on Kidoodle.TV? Well currently, we have some definite favorites. They really love The New Adventures of Madeline. Okay, so does their Mommy! I remember watching this and reading Madeline books as a child, so I am thrilled to be able to share this program with my little ones. And who doesn't love Super Mario Bros? They have seen us play the games on the Wii, so they were really excited to be able to watch full episodes featuring Mario, Luigi, Toad, Princess Toadstool and of course, the evil Bowser and the Koopa Kids! Another program my kids love that's a blast from the past is Inspector Gadget. Sadly, this means that I get the theme song stuck in my head for hours at a time! But hearing their giggles as they watch Uncle Gadget and Penny solve crimes is well worth the annoyance I cause by humming the song all day long. Overall, we are huge fans of Kidoodle.TV. My kids really love the many program options, and they ask for "Doodle TV" every day. I love the fact that I can set the timer for them and limit their viewing. I have to admit, this comes in handy when I need to get dishes or cleaning done and don't want little people swarming around me while I work. I also love the fact that I can totally customize each child's experience according to their age and tastes. As a mom, I feel safe knowing that by choosing Kidoodle.TV, my kids get to enjoy their television shows without being exposed to any questionable material. This is such a good idea. I wish they had had this when my daughter was small. It was so hard to control what she was seeing on tv then

I think more parents should be like you! Most parents just let their kids do anything, thank you for being a responsible parent! Sometimes the right thing isn't the popular thing but they will thank you later.

I have never heard of this - now I am wondering why I haven't! My daughter is 7 and she can control the tv by herself (what kid can't nowdays?) - and sometimes she doesn't always find the best programming :/ This would be great for me to be able to set limits on her and make sure she only sees the good stuff :) Thank you!

This would be great. It gets to be a challenge sometimes when parental controls don't work like they should. My kids would love the older shows, they always love to see what Mommy used to watch when she was a kid.
