***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** My kids absolutely love music. A lot. It must run in the family...My dad is a local "rock star" and plays shows all over the area with his band The Toyz, I used to sing, play guitar, and play piano, and my husband can play bass. So music runs through their blood. As a matter of fact, when I was pregnant with my 4 year old daughter, Sophie, she would dance in the womb any time The Beatles were played. And it was ONLY The Beatles. If I turned something else on, she would stop. Hey, at least I know my little princess has impeccable taste in music! She even loves Bruno Mars as much as I do! Okay, maybe not quite as much....She isn't obsessed with the man! We have dance parties quite often in our home. Sophie, Xander and Kyle all love to turn on music videos and dance and sing along. It's really cute! But I have noticed that a lot of videos are not exactly kid-friendly. I don't want my small people to see constant twerking and hear about drugs, sex, or violence. I am a protective mama, and I want to preserve their innocence for as long as humanly possible. So what's a mama to do when her kids want to dance? Well, in-the-know moms will simply pop in a DVD from The Gigglebellies and let the kiddies shake their groove things with no worries about inappropriate content! Haven't heard of The Gigglebellies? Don't worry, you will! But allow me to introduce you to this animated crew that is winning the hearts of kids and parents all over. About the Gigglebellies : Have you ever wondered why some children pick certain colors from a crayon box to express themselves? There's an actual science of color theory. And why does soft music lull babies to sleep just as upbeat rhythms get them clapping and wiggling? Scientists have explored the benefits of music and of color. One entertainment company has combined those results into The GiggleBellies™ Musical Adventures music video DVDs. This fresh twist on traditional music videos is catching the eye and ear of tots, grownups and animators alike! With whimsical song like "All The Little Raindrops" and "Imagine A Cloud," youngsters are captivated by the sights and sounds of each GiggleBellies video. Lasting only two to four minutes, the music is timed to a child's short attention span. Yet strung together a DVD of 9 or 10 music videos can last a half hour or can be started and stopped at any point. Parents are pleased the bold animation and sweet singing stimulates or soothes their child for a wake-up treat or a bedtime ritual. Sounds pretty awesome, right? I thought so, too! Our review : The awesome folks at The Gigglebellies sent me a great package of products to check out with my little tornadoes...Oops, children. This included 3 DVDs and an adorable Peanut plush elephant! The DVDs included all of the favorite songs that make childhood so magical, such as "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider", and "You Are My Sunshine", as well as plenty of new songs that are sure to become fast favorites! The Gigglebellies are a lot of fun, featuring friendly, vibrant characters, soothing melodies, and lots of opportunities to dance and sing. My kids absolutely love these DVDs, and I love the fact that dancing and singing along helps to wear them out. We usually turn these on about an hour before bedtime, just to make sure all that excess energy that preschoolers have an abundance of is depleted. We also really adore the Peanut plush elephant. Come on, what kid doesn't love a polka-dotted pachyderm? And the bright colors make Peanut a unique and huggable companion that kids are bound to become quite attached to! Here's my Xander snuggling his new friend! Of course Sophie loves to hug on Peanut, too! This plush pal is very soft, well made, and the perfect companion to the Gigglebellies DVDs! Even Daddy loves The Gigglebellies. Check him out taking a nap with Peanut. I guess he makes an adequate pillow, too! (My hubby would kill me if he knew I was posting this picture, but it's just too cute not to share!) Overall, we are totally bonkers for The Gigglebellies. These DVDs are wonderful for music lovers young and old, and they definitely keep kids entertained and engaged. I love the fact that kids just seem to want to sing and dance along with the Gigglebellies crew. This has been a lifesaver lately, considering Ohio is currently in yet another Arctic Freeze, so playing outdoors is completely out of the question. So if your kids love music, and love to giggle, definitely check this series out. The kiddos will have a blast and as a parent, you can have peace of mind knowing that these DVDs are fun and totally age-appropriate! My grandson is a little young yet to have a favorite song or dance yet, but he is already very musically inclined by his father, (a drummer) his uncle (plays base guitar & a singer) and his grandfather a drummer also. Only time will tell!
