In my household, we try to keep our diets as healthy as possible. We try to avoid eating too much "junk food". In fact, my kids actually prefer things like fresh fruits and veggies over prepackaged snack cakes, cookies, etc.
That's right. My kiddos actually LIKE veggies. I tease them and tell them they're my little bunnies, and I'm the Mama Bunny. Anyway, we do our best to keep things as wholesome and natural in our home. From snacks to meals to a quick bite on the go, I try to make sure I have plenty of natural and organic options on hand. That's why we love, love, LOVE the freeze-dried fruits and veggies from Karen's Naturals!
There’s nothing artificial about Karen’s Naturals. They produce everything in small batches, the old fashioned way with absolutely nothing added—no salt, no sulfur, no fat, no artificial flavorings, no sweeteners, no preservatives. Nothing but what Mother Nature intended. It’s the next best thing to eating straight from your garden!
Karen's Naturals' fruit and veggies are grown on farms, ranches and orchards where they are allowed to ripen naturally before being picked at the peak of flavor. The produce is handled with great care, washed gently, cut into bite-size pieces. The freeze-dried products are quickly flash frozen, and then all water is extracted by vacuum. Because the temperature never exceeds 90ºF, freeze-dried foods are considered a raw food. These dehydrated products are dried at 125ºF. Whether freeze-dried or dehydrated, Karen’s Naturals fruits and veggies keep their color, nutrients and intense flavors, ensuring that every bite is healthy and delicious.
We received a nice assortment of Karen's Naturals products to take along on our summer adventures. I like keeping the on-the-go sized bags in my purse or tote bag, and the larger sized bags are great for at home crunchings and munchings.
My kids especially love snacking on the Fruit Salad and Just Veggies varieties. They are, after all, good little bunnies! While these are all fab right out of the bag, they can also be incorporated into your soups and stews, muffins and cakes, and anything else your heart desires. They actually rehydrate nicely, have retain a super-fresh, vibrant flavor.
Karen's Naturals currently offers 37 distinct fruit and vegetable variations, along with a new line of 100% natural fruit powders.
Available in all-natural premium and organic versions, Karen’s Naturals fruit products include: Just Apples, Just Bananas,Just Strawberries, Just Blueberries, Just Grapes, Just Peaches, Just Mango, Cherries, Just Raspberries, Just Fruit Munchies, Just Persimmons, Just Fruit Salad and several combo packs. As mentioned, the company also recently introduced a line of 100% natural Fruit Powders–ideal for flavoring a wide range of dishes and desserts. Connect with Karen's Naturals :

I'd have to say the first summer treat that came to mind was frozen watermelon. Yup, there it is. It makes a wonderful treat on a hot, sweltering day. I chop watermelon into small cubes a bit smaller than 1" square. Then toss a bunch on a plate and put it in the freezer. Then enjoy them at any degree of frozen-ness (is that a word?). Great with a bit of frost on the outside or when completely frozen solid

In the summer when it's so hot I don't like to cook, so sometimes I just 'snack' meals, like having beef jerky and some fruit.
