![]() Well, it's official. My Xander is growing up! He will be a year old in January, and has just started pulling himself up to stand. He has his older sister to watch as an example, and he stares at her so intently as she runs around and climbs. So really, it's no wonder that he cannot wait to follow in her footsteps and enter the world of being a toddler. As a parent, I want to make sure my son's transition from baby to toddler goes as smoothly and safely as possible. We've been helping Xander walk by holding his hands and stooping down to assist him as he takes a few steps. The problem with that? Well, ask my aching back! I have to say, it has not fully recovered from almost 2 straight years of pregnancy and recovering from 2 cesareans in that time as well. I get horrible aches and pains in my lower back especially, and it can make stooping down to help my baby try to walk a painful experience. Not to mention, he gets frustrated because sometimes Mommy just can't seem to keep up! That's why I was thrilled to get the opportunity to review the Juppy Baby Walker. The Juppy is revolutionary in helping babies learn the skills they need to walk, all while remaining gentle on the parents' aching backs! The Juppy is totally ingenius, and very simple in design. This baby walker is simply a "sack" type enclosure with straps that Mom or Dad can hold onto from a comfortable, upright position while helping baby take those assisted steps. How does this benefit baby? For one, the Juppy helps develop the important skill of balance. It also helps prevent injuries from falls, since Mom or Dad is helping to support baby at all times. Another thing I absolutely love about the Juppy is the fact that it is extremely portable, and will easily fit into a purse or handbag! It even comes with a beautiful, satiny carrying case to protect it from inevitable make-up spills. Okay, so maybe that's just in MY purse, which happens to double as a makeshift cosmetics counter. Regardless, the Juppy Baby Walker can go anywhere, making it very convenient while on the go. I know Xander gets tired of being in a stroller for very long, and the Juppy makes it easy to give him some time on his feet. It also helps baby develop a sense of pride and independence as they learn to take those first steps, all with Mom or Dad "controlling the reigns" to keep them from falling. I received the Blue Juppy for my review, because pink just wouldn't do for my little man. Upon receiving my Juppy, I immediately noticed how well constructed it is. The fabric is not flimsy at all, and the straps are sewn to the body of the Juppy very securely. There is really no danger of the Juppy coming apart, as it is very durable and well made. Another thing I noticed is that the Juppy is machine washable. This is an absolute must in my home, since with a baby and a toddler in tow, messes definitely happen. I love the fact that if the Juppy happens to be in the line of fire when mashed potatoes get thrown, I can simply toss it in the wash on a cold, gentle cycle and let it air dry. Good as new! The Juppy Baby Walker is also very easy to use. I had no problems whatsoever slipping Xander into the Juppy. It features a zipper on the back to make this process absolutely painless. Then all I had to do was make sure his arms were positioned properly, and we were ready to go! Xander absolutely loves being in the Juppy. He laughs, squeals, and tries to take off chasing his sister around the house and yard. The Juppy gives him the confidence to do his best to keep up with her! Not only is the Juppy great for assisted walking, it is also great for dancing! My husband is a goof, and decided he was going to dance with Xander while he was testing out the Juppy. You would not believe the screams and giggles this elicited! It was so much fun watching them groove to some Bruno Mars! Take a look at some of the photos I got! And please excuse my hubby's Grinch Pajama pants and the mess in the background. Hurricane Sophie had made her way throughout the room, throwing toys all over the place! Overall, I was extremely impressed with the Juppy Baby Walker. I was surprised at how such a simple product could make such a huge difference in trying to teach our son to walk. This product is amazing, keeps baby safe, and definitely takes the strain off of parents' backs and shoulders. But the best part? Babies LOVE the Juppy! I have a blast seeing my Xander smile from ear to ear every time we put him in it. And since it's machine washable and super-portable, we can take the Juppy with us wherever we go! This product is definitely a must have in my book. Don't let the simple design fool you. The Juppy is definitely worth its weight in gold! Juppy walkers are neat! I haven't known anyone who has used them (not that I've asked), but I would be willing to try them when/if I have children! I want to win this for my friend who is having a baby soon :)
