Jewelry Gift Ideas For Any Occasion

There are a few times each year when jewelry seems like the perfect gift answer for someone that you care about. Jewelry does not necessarily need to be all about diamonds and precious stones, although these are wonderful ideas. There are a lot of different kinds of jewelry available for just about everyone.

When selecting your jewelry, you will want to consider the type that you are looking for, the design or designer of the jewelry, and even the price. Hopefully this all guides you to just the right gift for that special someone.

Type of Jewelry
The type of jewelry is very important. You have earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and more to choose from. The reason why you need to consider the jewelry type carefully has to do with the person that you are buying for. Purchasing fishhook or post-style earrings might not work if the person you are buying for does not have pierced ears, for instance. If the person you are buying for happens to have a metal allergy, you will also want to carefully consider the materials with which the jewelry is made.

Age might also play a factor in the type of jewelry you decide to purchase. Stylish wrapped bracelets can be a great idea for just about any age, for example, while diamonds might be reserved for the adults in your life. Leather jewelry can work well for both men and women of all ages, if the style is right. You will likely want to keep in mind the person that you are buying for when selecting the type of jewelry to get.

Designer
The design of the jewelry is important, but you also might take a careful look at the designer. There are a lot of different jewelry designers out there, and some might be better known for high quality products than others. Jewelry designer Chan Luu says if you don’t know a whole lot about jewelry, it might not hurt to look into a designer to find out more about them and the quality of their jewelry. When looking at precious stones, for example, it might help to find out how those stones were obtained. It might also benefit you to find out where the jewelry was actually made. All of this should help you to find a quality designer to buy from.

Price
As with most holiday gifts, price will likely play a factor in the jewelry that you purchase. Luckily, the holidays also tend to bring with them a lot of sales. Still, when you find the piece of jewelry that you want, it might help to look around to see if other places offer the same piece for a better price.

A key thing to remember is that just because you find what appears to be a better price, that doesn’t mean the jewelry piece is of the same quality. If you are looking for a piece of jewelry by a specific designer, you will want to watch out for counterfeit items. Sometimes, if the price is too good to be true, then something strange might be afoot.

Jewelry makes a great gift for just about anyone. When looking for that “perfect” piece of jewelry, remember to consider the type of jewelry, the designer, and the price. Also keep in mind the person that you are buying for. With careful decision making, the right piece of jewelry should hopefully come your way.

These are nice tips. It can be tricky buying jewelry for others, and you definitely have to keep those things in mind!

Great tips. I went to the site and I love their birthstone collection. Mine is emerald, so nice :)

As a frugal shopper, I don't really care about designers, mostly because you're paying for the name and not the quality. Price is important and so is overall look. I usually buy my cheap jewelry fashion pieces on ebay, since I can get betsy johnson's brand for a fraction of the cost elsewhere.

I know nothing about jewelries. I don't have that much accessories either. But I once thought of giving my mom a jewelry as a gift. Wish I read this before I bought the perfume I got her for Christmas.

Great tips! I do not know much about jewelry nor have I ever purchased any that were considered expensive. I always had to place my trust in those selling the jewelry as I have no idea about quality nor design.

These are some great points about jewelry. Most people are thinking diamonds, really expensive, etc. I guess a lot of us tend to have expensive taste as well so that may not help. It's so funny that you mention it being functional as a gift for different occasions because I just received these sterling silver hoops and a matching necklace from a blogger for a Christmas exchange I participated in online. They were totally my style and were much needed. Thanks for sharing such a great post. :)
