In my house, we are carnivores, plain and simple. True, I love organic and natural foods, but I am by no means a vegetarian. I tried to go that route one time, but found that I just couldn't give up tasty little critters! My stint as a vegetarian lasted all of about a week before I completely threw in the towel and went back to my meat-eating ways. The thing that did me in? Bacon! I suppose turkey bacon is one of those mysteries in the world that we're not meant to fully understand.

I received a bottle of J&D's Hickory Flavored Bacon Salt for my review, and all I can say is WOW! This stuff truly does taste just like hickory smoked bacon! If I could, I would put real bacon on everything. That's not exactly an option, as bacon is quite fattening and loaded with sodium. I don't use a lot of salt when I cook, since large amounts of salt are quite bad for a person. With Bacon Salt, I can get the flavor I crave without all of the salt and fat. (My arteries are thanking me already!)
This is a great, low-sodium way to bring a punch of flavor to any dish! I have used my Bacon Salt in mashed potatoes, in macaroni and cheese, and even in the gravy for country fried steaks! It can be used anywhere, and a little goes a long way. I only had to use about 1/4 of a teaspoon when making my gravy, and it gave a plain old country style gravy a wonderful, smoky, bacon flavor that was absolutely to die for!
I would definitely recommend J&D's Bacon Salt to anyone who possesses taste buds. Especially all of you vegans and vegetarians out there! You can still enjoy the taste of bacon without compromising your lifestyle one bit. Whoever invented this stuff deserves a prize of some sort for making the world a happier place.
