It's been such a long day today, and I am happy to finally be able to sit down and just relax. You see, while we have been here in Ohio for almost a year, we are just now getting around to making it 100% official. Our VA tags were still valid, so we have been totally putting off going and getting our cars registered and titled here in Ohio. Well, those tags expired recently, so we couldn't procrastinate any longer. It simply had to be done, unless we wanted to score some major tickets. And my town is currently known as "Ticket City." (No, that is not a joke!) So today, we begrudgingly bit the bullet and headed off to the DMV. Oops, make that the BMV. (It's named differently than in Virginia!) While we expected to sit for hours in a sea of irritated patrons, waiting for our number to be called, we were shocked to find no wait. No lines to speak of, and no numbers being called. The process for getting vehicles titled and registered here is very different than in Virginia. For one, you don't need to get a safety inspection. Ever. (In VA, this is a yearly requirement.) All that is required is vin number confirmation and passing an emmisions test. Plus, you have to go to 2 separate places for titling and registration. Thankfully, these just happened to be in the same building. I hear this isn't always the case here in Ohio, though. So thankfully, our trip to the BMV went quickly and smoothly. We now have vehicles registered in Ohio, as well as Ohio plates. We no longer need to feel like out-of-towners while we're driving around our area. Since the trip was quick and relatively painless, we had time to catch up on errands and take the kids to IHOP. We also did some yardwork, which wore me out. So now I am sitting here with a glass of wine just relaxing. I have the sneaking suspicion that Dan is up to something, though. Since the cars are now Ohio legal, he must be thinking of modifying them somehow. I just caught him looking at performance parts at http://shop.zzperformance.com. Oh lord....I told him to complete one project at a time. Like the chain link fence for the yard and the patio that's been halfway done for a month now!

Glad your cars are legal now. I've got to get an emissions test this month.
