![]() You all know I love, love, LOVE my fluff! Cloth-diapering is one of the best decisions I have made for my family, and I am always on the lookout for new brands and styles of diapers to try. With so many choices out there like One Size diapers, Fitteds, AI2's, AIO's covers and more, I am always finding more reasons to fall even more in love with cloth-diapering. As an Incredimom Blogger, I have already tried the awesome Incredibum Wet Bag, but I was waiting on pins and needles for my Incredibum diaper to arrive. Ever since the brand launched this past October, I have had my eye on the Incredibum One Size Diaper. Being the proud mama of 2 toddlers, I prefer OS diapers because they will fit both of my babies, therefore saving me money. The Incredibum OS Bamboo Diaper is available in 7 fun colors and fits babies from around 8lbs-30+lbs. Of course exact weight ranges depend on the length and girth of the baby wearing the diaper! I have found that my son fit into the vast majority of One Size diapers when he was between 8-10lbs, or around 1-2 months old. He was born at a tiny 6lbs 14oz, so babies with higher birth-weights can easily fit into OS diapers right away. This diaper features a generous amount of snaps including 2 hip snaps on each side as well as cross-over snaps. The rise of the diaper can be adjusted using the snaps on the front of the diaper. You can choose the smallest setting, a mid-rise setting, or leave this portion unsnapped altogether. This means that the Incredibum grows with your baby. What makes the design of the Incredibum unique is that it's a trim-fitting AI2. (All-In-Two) What is an AI2? An AI2 is a diaper that doesn't require stuffing. Unlike standard pocket diapers, AI2 inserts generally are laid or snapped onto the inner of the diaper, putting them in direct contact with baby's skin. The soiled inserts can then be removed and replaced, making the body of the diaper reusable by snapping extra inserts in. (Unless of course the diaper itself gets soiled.) Think of it like a more modern day answer to prefolds and diaper covers. I happen to love AI2's because it's a far more economical way to cloth-diaper, considering you would only need to purchase 1 cover for every 3-4 inserts. Then when you're ready to wash the diaper, since the inserts are attached, you can simply toss the whole thing into the wash. No need to pull dirty inserts out of the diaper at all! Talk about convenience! The Incredibum features 2 ways to snap the inserts in. You can snap the insert onto the front area of the diaper as well as the back, having it fully attached, or you can snap it in the front alone, leaving the rear portion unsnapped. This is a matter of personal preference, though, and does not affect the functionality of the diaper. Each Incredibum comes with 2 inserts, a larger, full-sized insert that covers the entire inner portion of the diaper, and a smaller insert that is perfect for younger babies. You can even use them together for added absorbency! Aside from being a OS All-In-Two diaper, which is awesome, the thing I love the most about the Incredibum is that the inserts are made using a bamboo/cotton blend. I am a huge fan of bamboo since it has natural antimicrobial properties, is highly absorbent, and is sustainable. Bamboo grows very quickly, so this is the perfect renewable resource! I also much prefer having natural fibers against my babies' skin whenever I can help it.Plus, the Incredibum inserts are a super soft, terry like material that feels wonderful against the skin. I would love pajamas made of this very blend! I received the Incredibum OS Bamboo Diaper in their cheerful Sunshine color. I have to admit, I am not a fan of yellow as a whole, but this shade is actually pretty nice. It's vibrant, fun, and reminds me of LemonHead candies! Who knew I would ever find a yellow diaper attractive?! Guess you learn something everyday! Take a look at this awesome diaper! So the Incredibum OS Bamboo diaper looks great and has some amazing features, but could it hold its own against my 2 little terrors? I tested the Incredibum on both of my babies during the day as well as overnight. Here are my results! ![]() TEST BABY 1: Sophia, Age 2 28lbs I tested the Incredibum on Sophie, my Tazmanian-Devil-Wanna-Be 2 year old first. Sophie is incredibly active. She rarely sits still, and loves running, jumping, rolling, twisting, dancing, and climbing. Just thinking about it makes me tired, and a little dizzy, too! Because of her activity level, I have had problems with some diapers bunching and giving her a "wedgie." I chose to try this diaper during the day first, and I used just the larger insert for this purpose. I snapped the insert at both ends to avoid the bunching and twisting issues I have encountered while using AI2's. I then let Sophie do her thing. For about 2 hours she tore my house apart, climbed on the furniture, and jumped around. Yes, this is a normal occurrence here! When I went to check her diaper, I noticed it has stayed nicely in place. No wedgies here! Also, I noticed that while the insert itself was soaked to high Heaven, the inside of the diaper remained relatively dry. If I had more of these inserts available, I would have been able to snap them in and reuse the cover with no problem. Aside from being a whirlwind of energy during the day, my Sophie is also a very heavy wetter at night. So naturally, I chose to use both inserts when I tested this diaper overnight. This mama is no fool! I wouldn't dare use just one insert at night, unless of course I wanted my baby to wake up soaked all the way through! Sophie slept for around 10 hours, and I noticed right away that a very small area around the leg elastics was damp. Not soaked, but a teensy-tiny bit of dampness was present. This is a pretty common thing, especially after overnight use, so this didn't upset me at all. This dampness was very slight and did not irritate her skin at all. It was almost unnoticeable, to be honest. I just happened to be looking for it for review purposes. The rest of the diaper remained dry to the touch on the outside. The inserts were SOAKED. I do mean drenched! But for such a trim-fitting diaper to contain that kind of moisture without significant leakage, especially overnight? I'd say it was a success in my book! ![]() TEST BABY 2: Xander, Age 1 20lbs Xander is my 1 year old son. He is the sweetest, silliest, most laid-back baby you'd ever want to meet. He really is a little charmer, and he just started walking about a month ago. While he's not as crazy as his big sister, I would still consider him pretty active. The problem with Xander isn't wedgies or heavy wetting...The problem with my little Xan-Man is the poop. He poops all the darn time, and it's always absolutely rancid and disgusting. I have even had issues with poop creeping up his back and out of the legs of diapers onto his little thighs. This doesn't happen constantly, but probably occurs once or twice a week. Yuck! I chose to test this diaper on Xander during the day first. The diaper fit him very well, as it did on his sister, and he seemed to like the material used in the inserts. However, since he's a boy and tends to wet towards the front of his diaper, I did choose to use both inserts. He wore the diaper for around 2 hours, and had no leaks at all. Even after drinking 2 cups of Silk Fruit & Protein and some milk in that time frame! The Incredibum performed very well during the daytime. I also tested this diaper on Xander overnight. I was a bit worried, as he always, without fail, wakes up a poopy mess. I opted to use both inserts again, and had them snapped in completely so I could protect the inside of the diaper from the inevitable mess. Xander slept for around 9 hours, and sure enough, he woke up stinky. Much to my delight, there was no detectable moisture found on the outside of the diaper, including at the legs, and no poop had made its way outside of the diaper. When I opened the diaper, I was really surprised that no poop made its way onto the diaper itself. It was only on the inserts. I think this is because the Incredibum inserts are designed to fit perfectly into the diaper, protecting it from mishaps. Overall, I am very impressed by the performance of the Incredibum OS Bamboo Diaper. This diaper is trim-fitting, highly adjustable, and definitely holds in messes well. It's also very convenient since it's an AI2. The Incredibum has seen a lot of use in my home, and it's one of the first diapers I reach for when changing my babies. I love the fabric, the great fit, and I love the slim-appearance, too. I think I have a new Top 5 favorite! Yes, even though it's yellow!
