In Honor Of The Tatas Sponsor Spotlight And EARLY ENTRIES: Twirly Girl

One of my absolute favorite parts of having a little girl is getting to dress her up in cute, feminine clothing. My daughter is the very definition of a girly-girl, and she seems to love being dolled up in pretty dresses, tutus, and other frilly duds. When we dress her in such apparel, she likes to examine herself in the mirror and always seems to spend extra time touching and admiring her outfits. The first time we put her in a tutu, she had a blast just feeling the tulle and was absolutely fascinated by the vibrant color and fluffy texture. While there are so many clothing options available for little girls, I tend to gravitate towards more unique styles that have a boutique designed feel to them. Sure, I could hop on over to my nearest big-box retailer and pick up several adorable outfits for my little princess. But in doing so, chances are, half the tots on the block probably have the same exact outfits. I like my little angel to stand out and wear clothing that matches her diva-like personality. For Sophie, nothing will do but the very best. Ask anyone who knows her, she is one of a kind. She knows what she likes, and isn't at all shy about expressing it! She must get that from her Daddy's side, since I tend to be extremely meek in nature. Either way, my baby has a larger than life personality, and I like her clothing to reflect this.

That's why I was so very excited to get the opportunity to review Twirly Girl. I stumbled upon this fabulous boutique while doing a Google search for higher end, twirly dresses and skirts for toddlers and girls. I immediately fell in love with Twirly Girl's amazing selection of reversible dresses and skirts. They have SO many stunning options in a wide variety of colors and prints. From pretty and classically demure to bolder styles with an attitude, Twirly Girl has just the right thing to make any little girl feel just like a real life princess. Their beautiful dresses and skirts have a flowy, almost ethereal quality to them. While they are perfect for the most special of occasions, they are also made with kids in mind and are suitable for play as well. After all, little girls love to run and twirl! But Twirly Girl isn't only about dresses and skirts, they even offer pants, leggings, and super fun outfits for more active playtime, like trips to the park and climbing on the jungle-gym! I know my daughter can keep up with the most rough and tumble boys, and I love the fact that with fun apparel from Twirly Girl, she can still look like the fiercely feminine girl that she is!

For my review, I received the Twirly Girl Can Can Dress in their to-die-for Minuet print. (This is just one of several gorgeous variations, by the way!) I absolutely LOVE the color and print combination in this dress. The vibrant pinks and the bold black truly stand out and match my daughter's punk-rock diva personality perfectly! The Can Can Dress is special because it is unlike anything you'll find anywhere else. I love the off-shoulder design, and I also love the elegant yet playful silhouette this dress offers. The dress has an empire waist and an asymmetrical hem. The front of the skirt is shorter than the back, allowing this beautiful garment to flow gracefully behind Sophie as she walks...Or runs. She is usually going full-speed!

Another thing I absolutely love about this dress is the quality of construction and the soft, silky materials used. This dress is very well made, and is meant to withstand even the most active of girls all while retaining it's delicate appearance. The Can Can Dress also has a bit of stretch to it and allows plenty of room to grow. I imagine Sophie will be able to wear her Twirly Girl dress for quite some time, as she is petite for her age. Even though she's a bit vertically challenged and the back of the dress is a bit long for her, it doesn't deter her one bit. Due to the fact that the dress is shorter in the front and the back literally flows behind her, she doesn't get tripped up on the fabric at all.

Oh, and if gorgeous looks weren't enough, another HUGE plus is that Twirly Girl's clothing is machine washable. They earn major brownie points on that one! I am not willing to dress a toddler in clothing that must be dry-cleaned. With all of the inevitable messes and spills that take place, it just wouldn't be cost effective!

We really put this dress to the wash-ability test, too. My husband's wonderful Aunt and Uncle and their family were recently in town from California. This was their first time meeting our babies, so of course we wanted her to look extra pretty for them. Naturally, we chose our Twirly Girl Can Can Dress! They all loved it, by the way! This twirly dress was perfect for the occasion, and Sophie looked like a little doll! We all went to Cracker Barrel for dinner, and Sophie attacked her Daddy's chocolate cake! She definitely inherited her father's chocoholism. By the time we left the restaurant, Sophie was absolutely covered in cakey-mush! I am thrilled to say, even after being covered in a layer of thick, fudgy goo, this dress came perfectly clean in the wash and retained its shape perfectly.
