I'm A Maytag Kitchen Mom! #MaytagMoms

This past week has literally been a dream come true for my family. We spent the week in North-Eastern Ohio, finalizing the purchase of our new home. We found a beautiful old home near the riverfront in the town I grew up, and it's absolutely fantastic. I happen to love grand, old homes because they have so much character and little details that newer homes seem to be lacking. From hardwood floors to antique fixtures and loads of built-in storage, this home is so charming and will be a wonderful place to raise our children.

With an older home comes the unavoidable need for updating. Our living room has some God-awful wallpaper that needs to go, and the kitchen needs updating as well. The floor is not the most attractive, and the appliances, while not ancient, don't reflect my personal taste. The stove is pretty old, as is the dishwasher. The microwave and fridge are probably around 5 years old or so, but they are white and I much prefer stainless steel appliances.

As we were looking around our new home, I kept envisioning the kitchen I'd like to have, and thought about my dream appliances. I thought it would take years to make these upgrades! But then, I checked my e-mail and found out that I am a Maytag Kitchen Mom! I let out a huge shriek and did a happy dance. I couldn't believe my luck! And such perfect timing, too!

So what is the Maytag Kitchen Mom program all about? Well, it's really pretty awesome. 25 lucky bloggers, yours truly included, will be receiving a whole set of dependable Maytag appliances. Maytag is a name that has become an American tradition. My Grandma uses Maytag appliances and so did her mother! For generations, the Maytag name has become synonymous for quality and reliability. I have heard so much praise about the Maytag brand, and I cannot wait to try these products myself!

I think I am most excited about the French Door Refrigerator. With a family of 5, we shop for a lot of food, and have noticed that our current refrigerator gets very cramped and disorganized. This will be a thing of the past with my new Maytag fridge! This ingeniously designed appliance boasts a whopping 25 cubic feet of space, perfect for all of our cheeses, meats and produce! It even has a convenient counter-height drawer that is easily accessible even to small children. It even has a Pur water and ice dispenser and a vertical wine bottle holder. These are just a few of the many features. In a word, I expect that the French Door Refrigerator with Easy Access will be perfection.

I am also super-excited about the dishwasher! I know. Some may think that's a strange thing to get excited about. However, our dishwasher in our current home has been broken for quite some time now, and washing dishes for 5 people by hand every day has become tedious and never-ending. The Maytag Jetclean Plus dishwasher with Fully Integrated Controls has a powerful motor, a steam cycle, and even a 4-blade stainless steel chopper. I have the sneaking suspicion that dishes will no longer be the most dreaded chore in the house!

I am over the moon about becoming a Maytag Kitchen Mom. This is an absolute honor, and I am looking forward to representing such a prestigious brand. This is a wonderful way to celebrate the purchase of our first home, and I am so glad that Maytag will become a part of our family.
