![]() If you haven't noticed yet, I am not overly shy when it comes to what I am willing to talk about here. Just yesterday, I talked about my mentrual flow issues and mama cloth. While I do my best to keep everything PG rated, I will even talk about my marital relations. Another thing I frequently talk about, mainly because I have 2 babies in diapers, is poop. I'll bet if I did a site search of the word "poop" it would come back with dozens of results. As a parent, poop is something I have to deal with every single day. Let's face it: Poop is as unavoidable as death and taxes. We all do it. Some of us (like me) have the honorary title of "Poopy-Wiper-Upper". If you're a pet owner, you have to pick up and dispose of poop. You may even get it embedded into the bottom of your shoe on occasion. Poop is here to stay, people. So while this is something we all do, why is there such a taboo in talking about it? Sure, it's not the most pleasant of topics. Sure, it smells awful. But it's also a completely natural bodily function. One that can say a lot about one's overall health! Poop can be very telling. If you have runny poop, chances are you're sick. Constipation? You probably need to eat more fiber or take probiotic supplements to help stop the straining. How often you poop says a lot, too. I am not a normal pooper, apparently. Did you know that we should be taking 2-3 proper bowel movements every single day? Okay. I go MAYBE twice a week! That has been the norm for me as long as I can remember. Now my husband probably meets the 3-poop quota with ease. So does my youngest child, Xander. But me? Nope. I guess I just don't poop as much as I should. ![]() That's why I was interested in learning more about my digestive health. When the nice folks at ReNew Life contacted me about their current "How Does Poo Move You" campaign and contest, I immediately agreed to hop on board. ReNew Life is a leading manufacturer and distributor of natural health supplements and functional foods including Probiotics, Fish Oil, and Fiber. They offer a wide range of products for the entire family that help keep our digestive systems up and running smoothly. From Herbal Detox, Probiotic Supplements to Digestive Enzymes, there really is something that can easily be fit into any lifestyle. They even have special baby and children's products! I have done my homework, and with the help of the ReNew Life team, I have learned a ton about keeping regular. Here are some tips to help ensure you're pooping pleasantly from the folks at ReNew Life: How Does Poo Move You? “Top 10 Poo Nuggets of Love” •A healthy bowel movement should smoothly slip out in one easy, effortless motion, sit on top of the water a few seconds, and then slowly sink. No plop. •The color of healthy poop should be fashionably “prom dress” golden brown. •The same pleasure area in the brain that makes us want to cry out during good sex is also titalized during an outstanding bowel movement. Here’s to satisfaction! •Hey ladies: Where poop is concerned “size does matter.” 18 inches of glorious elimination is perfectly pleasurable. •Your poop should slip right out of you. A gentle push and out it goes. Bye Bye Mr. Deuce! •A healthy Deuce is very quiet. It barely makes a sound and never barks. •Once you consume 35 grams of fiber in a given day, your colon automatically contracts and pushes your poop gently down and out. Clockwork. •Like a shiny-coated Shiba Inu, fiber is man’s best friend. Both can be counted on and are unwaveringly loyal. •Your poop should gently – and safely – slide into the bowl. No cannon balls allowed! •You should only demonstrably celebrate your Poo bravado when you‘re comfortably pooping 2-to-3 times daily. I received a few products from ReNew Life that should help me lose the last 20lbs I would much like to be rid of. My weight has been stuck right at 130lbs for a month now. My goal weight is 110-115. Included in my package were the ReNew Life Total Diet Success, Diet Start Cleanse, and Crave Be Gone. I have only been using these products for about a week, but I have lost 1.8lbs so far, and guess what? I have been pooping every day. Weird! Over the past couple of days, I have even done the deed 2 and even 3 times. For me, that is highly abnormal. Who knows? Maybe the 15lbs I would like to lose is due to poo-poo back-up in my colon. Regardless, I have definitely noticed a difference not only in my bathroom habits, but also in how I feel. I have had less food cravings, more energy, and I haven't had many stomach cramps. The nicest change? Well, this is TMI, but normally when I have a bowel movement, I have to strain. It will feel like I am giving rectal birth to a log, when in reality it ends up looking like a pile of hard little rabbit turds. Not an overly pleasant experience. Over the past week my poop has come out like butter. Nice and soft and easy to eliminate. Obviously, ReNew Life products are doing their job! So as you can see, there's more to poop than meets the eye (or nose). It's important to understand the signs of good digestive health. It's also important to communicate with your kids regarding any poo-poo issues that can signal a problem. I know...Who wants to talk to kids about healthy poop? That might be embarrassing, right? Well, I can tell you from personal experience that while initiating the conversation may seem awkward at first, as soon as you say the word "Poop", your kids will laugh hysterically, giggle, snort, and want to have fun with it. Kids love "potty talk". Boys especially. You could even make a game of it! Ask questions. Get creative. Let your kids know what kind of poop they should be having. Tell them the importance of eating their fiber and getting exercise. Heck, you could even go off into a rendition of the classic "Beans, Beans, They're good for your heart...." ditty. Just get the message out there. Your kids will hear you, loud and clear! Overall, I am really glad to be working with ReNew Life. They have taught me a lot about proper digestive care, and their products really do make a difference. I learned that not only adding fiber, beneficial oils, and hydration to help constipation but you must exercise to get things going. You also need to limit the refined food products and go when you have the urge. Thank you.:)
