![]() My toddlers have an odd fascination with furniture. No, really. They do. My 2 year old daughter will try and turn absolutely anything and everything into a chair. She flips cardboard boxes over and tries to use them as a seat, usually falling through and landing on her little butt. Then she laughs hysterically, gets back up, and does it all over again! Other odd things that my toddlers have tried to turn into chairs are Lego bins, huge plastic storage bins, and even their 8-in-1 Wooden Activity Cart. Basically if their bottoms can fit on it, it MUST be a seat! (At least in their minds!) While it's definitely amusing watching my babies create their own furniture out of random objects, I would much rather see them sit on real furniture, for both safety and comfort reasons. I mean, how cozy can a hard plastic bin be? Not very, if you ask me! Plus, sitting on an inverted Lego bin isn't exactly the safest of things. It tends to be wobbly at times, and we don't need any boo-boos if we can help it. So I started looking for fun, lightweight, and safe toddler furniture. My kids love to carry things around with them, so a big, clunky chair just wouldn't do. I can totally see my 2 year old trying to drag around a heavy children's recliner, too. She thinks she's a grown man in a tiny little body. She tries to move our big coffee table all the time! While searching the web for the perfect product, I stumbled across a great shop called Hoohobbers! This is a specialty boutique that has been around since 1981. (That's as long as I have been alive!) Hoohobbers is based in Chicago, my husband's hometown, and manufactures a wide variety of compact, highly portable children's goods. Some of their products include rocking chairs, tables, baby rockers, easels, and even adorable little director's chairs! These items can even be customized. You can choose your fabric options and even have your products personalized with embroidery in several colors and fonts. Aside from their great furniture, Hoohobbers also carries some wonderful bibs, art smocks, and even moses baskets. Everything made by Hoohobbers is specifically designed with little people in mind. Their products are incredibly lightweight, portable, and extremely durable. They even fold, making it easy for little arms to tote them around! Another thing I love about these products is that nothing ever requires assembly. These products are good to go, right out of the box. This is a huge plus for me, since I am not mechanically inclined in the slightest. Usually, I have to rely on my husband to assemble anything that comes with several parts, no matter how simple it is. With Hoohobbers, this was not the case at all. Talk about a breath of fresh air! The nice folks at Hoohobbers sent me their toddler rocking chair for my review. I chose the Denim option and had Xander's name embroidered on it in red. I chose the Curlique font, since it is so whimsical and fun looking. When our rocking chair arrived, all I had to do was unfold it, and viola! It was ready to go! Take a look at how adorable this chair is! ![]() In addition to being completely charming looking, the Hoohobbers personalized rocking chair is also very safe. The frame is very solid, sturdy, and smooth, having no sharp edges whatsoever. There is no place for little fingers to get pinched. The overall shape of the chair is also designed with safety in mind. The wide base makes it difficult to tip, which will help to prevent accidents. The legs are actually 3 inches wider than the seat. This is a wonderful feature, since my toddlers love to climb. The chair also has stable feet to help with stability, even when the littlest of toddlers is rocking away. There is even a "baby lock" for added security! My toddlers both love the Hoohobbers Toddler Rocking Chair. They actually fight over who gets to sit in it! The thing I love the most is that this chair is very sturdy. My daughter, who loves to climb and jump, has been fairly rough when getting into this chair and she has yet to tip it over. My 1 year old son can rock and rock, and the chair never wobbles at all. I don't have to worry when my kids get in and out of this chair since it's so well-designed. This product also features a water-proof frame, eliminating rusting over time and making clean-ups a breeze. And let's face it: When you have toddlers, spills and messes happen! Another thing I love is that it's so very lightweight. My kids can both carry it around, folded or not, with no effort at all. They love bringing their rocking chair from room to room, all by themselves! What a great way to help build independence and self-esteem! While this product is feather-light, it is also very strong. My 12 year old jokingly sat in it, and it actually supported his weight! (He weighs around 130lbs, as much as I do!) While I definitely wouldn't recommend this seat for adult use, it is definitely able to support adult weights. This makes me feel good as a mom because it tells me that this rocking chair is built to last and can endure any abuse my active toddlers subject it to! Overall, I couldn't be more thrilled with Hoohobbers. My kids love their rocking chair, and so do I. It's adorable, fits into my decor, and is the perfect size for my little ones. I guess they can finally give up their cardboard box chairs! (Hooray!) I am so glad I discovered this company! Not only are these products American made in Chicago, (Go BEARS! Had to throw that in there...Yes, we're die-hard Bears fans here!) they are durable, safe, and made to last for many, many years. I would definitely recommend Hoohobbers to any families out there with small children. This company offers some amazing, kid-friendly products that are sure to become fast favorites in any home. I have a Hoohobbers Wish List starting! The next thing on my list? One of their adorable toy-boxes!
