The Holidays are right around the corner, and many parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles have already begun looking for the perfect gifts for the children in their lives. It can be challenging though, especially while shopping for older children who may not really be into toys anymore.

My 13 year old is the perfect example. He doesn't play with toys anymore, and he is very particular about what is "cool" and what is "uncool". This makes shopping for him a little difficult, to say the least. I almost never know what to get him, since his teenage tastes change like the weather.

Luckily, one thing Kyle does enjoy is reading. He's not really into novels, but he likes books full of interesting facts. He loves learning new things, especially since it makes him look very smart among his peers. So of course, I just knew he would love TIME For Kids Top 5 of Everything.

The 144-page book for ages 8 and up is based on TIME For Kids’ most popular feature: the TFK Top 5. Similar to the magazine version, the lists have amusing and colorful illustrations accompanied by information at a glance. Each Top 5 list has guaranteed kid and parent appeal and is certain to surprise young readers who will refer to the book over and over.

The book features more than 100 lists, including the following topics:

·         The hottest planets in the solar system
·         The baseball players with the most home runs
·         The fastest roller coasters
·         The most popular dog breeds
·         The biggest spiders
·         The longest spacewalks
·         Kids’ favorite toys

Here are a couple of sample pages to show how well illustrated the book is. I just love the bright colors and vivid pictures included. They really stand out and grab a kid's attention. It is also very easy to read.

The lists featured in the book cover every topic, from animals, sports, technology, food, people and entertainment. Top 5 of Everything (Time Home Entertainment Inc.; August 27, 2013; $11.99) is  is available at timeforkids.com/top5 and retailers nationwide.

This would make a fantastic gift for the inquisitive kids in your life!

He doesn't a lot yet, we've had a few setbacks health wise, and his speech isn't that great. But I'd love to sit down with both my kids and read this to them and explain things!

YES! My 5 year old always asks lots of "why" questions! Sometimes I am at loss for words on how to explain it to her specially if she catches me off guard. LOL. :)

No, but I once had my niece ask about my abusive relationship. It was sad because I did not know what to say back to that. She had to of been like 4 because I am currently in a relationship with my fiance going on two years, and it was a year and a half in between there. She is 7 now. I dated the abusive guy for three years.
