Woo-Hoooo! Christmas is only about a month away! I know that many of you are still getting all that Holiday shopping done, and if you're anything like me, shopping for kids can be a little on the stressful side. Toys, clothing, knick-knacks, candy...All of the choices are a little overwhelming! One great way to make your little ones happy this Holiday season as well as promote the love of reading is to give the gift of Holiday themed books. I know my toddlers love snuggling up for story time, and they also love books about Christmas. Seeing bright illustrations of Santa, Mrs. Clause, reindeer and the elves always makes them smile and helps make Christmas truly magical. Recently, I was sent 2 fantastic new books to review, "A Bit of Applause for Mrs. Clause" by Jeannie Schick-Jacobowitz and Susie Schick-Pierce, and a book from the "Santa Is Coming to..." series by Steve Smallman. A Bit of Applause for Mrs. Clause is a delightfully funny tale about all of the work Mrs. Clause does behind the scenes to prepare for Christmas when Santa is sick. It's really a true testament to the many things that wives and mothers do every single day and may not get the credit for! The book is beautifully illustrated and definitely fun to read with the family. Take a look at a few of the pages. I love all of the bright, vibrant pictures! Now the Santa Is Coming to...series is very, very neat. You see, you can customize the book to your own home state, as well as many cities, making the Christmas experience familiar and even more special for your little ones. Current locations include: Arizona, Boston, California, Chicago, Florida, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New England, New York, Ohio, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, Texas, the Carolinas, the Rockies, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington, Wisconsin. Since we're in the North-Eastern Ohio area, naturally we received Santa Is Coming to Ohio! I love all of the local details thrown into the story. This book actually shows Ohio landmarks and mentions different attractions that kids in the Buckeye state will be able to relate to. Take a look at just a few pages from this fun-filled tale! So if you're looking for some really fun gift ideas this year, I would definitely recommend picking up these books. I guarantee your kids will love them, and they'll become part of your yearly Christmas traditions!

We love going for rides at night and see all the houses lit up. Also, going to continue the tradition that my mom had ~ no one opens a thing until Mama has her first cup of coffee, lol.

My grandkids do the Elf on the Shelf. It's so cute for them to go searching each morning. Today, they told me he was by a candle roasting a marshmallow. :)
