How many of you are expecting, or know someone who is? I happen to know a ton of people who are about to become parents, and it's always so much fun to go shopping for baby furniture and accessories with them. I suppose it's because I need to get my "baby fix", even though we're done having children of our own.
Or perhaps you have little ones of your own, and you're looking for sleek, modern nursery decor for your nursery or playroom. I happen to love bold colors and prints with a true designer feel. Sure, bunnies and teddy bears are cute, but this mama loves some glam reminiscent of some fabulous Soho boutique.
One great place to find baby and children's furniture and decor that is anything but ordinary is My Urban Child. They have a wide variety of bedding, lighting, furniture, decor, and even play items that are sure to satisfy even the most discriminating of tastes. Many of their items are worthy of even the most extravagant of celeb nurseries, and will definitely leave you drooling.
Not familiar with My Urban Child? No problem! I'd love to introduce you to this gem of a retailer!

My Top Holiday Picks :
I would love to share some of my favorite items from My Urban Child that would make absolutely amazing Holiday gifts for the children or expectant parents in your life.
Check out this gorgeous Koko Company Alpaca Throw. I just love the warm, rich jewel tones and simple design. I bet my little ones would love to wrap up in this luxurious blanket during our nightly story time!
My soon to be 4 year old is a princess, and she certainly knows it. This regal yet whimsical Levels of Discovery Princess Bench with Storage would make the perfect place for my little royal to kick up her feet after a long day of commanding her loyal servants...Or maybe just her baby brother, Xander. You've got to start somewhere, right?
Who doesn't adore the timeless wisdom and wit of the legendary Dr. Suess? I know we sure do! Check out this fantastic Trend Lab Dr. Suess ABC Blooming Bouquet 3 Piece Set! It includes 5 colorful washcloths, 4 burp cloths, and a comfy hooded towel. Definitely a must for any new addition!
Our Review of the Clocky Alarm Clock :
The awesome folks at My Urban Child sent me a very unique product to check out for myself. This admittedly will be a Holiday gift for my very hard to wake teenage son.
The Clocky made by Nanda Home takes waking up very seriously, and makes the user physically work to shut off the alarm. It's the clock that runs away!
When the alarm sounds, that's when the fun (or frustration) begins. This clever clock beeps loudly and then literally rolls away. This means the sleepy owner will need to get out of bed and chase down the runaway clock to turn off the alarm. Ingenious, right?!
The Clocky comes in a nice variety of colors. I chose this classy aqua blue, which is much like a Tiffany blue and will never go out of style. As you can see, this cute little clock sits on some rather large wheels, which allow it to work its wake-up magic!
The clock is quite simple to set, and does feature a snooze button on the top of the unit. Personally, knowing I would have to chase down the clock again would motivate me to just wake up and start my day rather than hit snooze and have to do it all over again.
Overall, I am definitely digging the selection of unique home products from My Urban Child. Yes, some of their items are definite splurges. When you're dealing with designer items and furniture, you can often expect higher price tags. Since the quality of their products and customer service is absolutely stellar, I would be willing to pay a bit more for merchandise that makes such a bold fashion statement.
For those whose pockets may not be so deep, there are also tons of more affordable choices like wall decor items, baby blankets, bath sets, and more. There truly is something for everyone, and for every budget.
So while you're doing your Holiday shopping this year, be sure to check out My Urban Child. I guarantee you'll fall in love and maybe even want another baby just for an excuse to design a nursery using these products!
