Holiday Gift Idea For New Moms: Burt's Bees!

My youngest babies were both born right around the Holidays. Sophie, my soon-to-be 3 year old, was born on New Year's Eve. (Yeah, we're dreading her teenage years!) Xander, who is almost 2, was born on January 14th. So I spent quite a bit of time around the Holidays ready to pop.

One of my all time favorite companies when it comes to baby care items is Burt's Bees. Okay, so I lied...They're actually one of my favorite companies for personal care items in general. They make amazing, natural products for the whole entire family! One of my favorites is their lip balm. But today I'd like to focus on their baby products.

I can personally say I have tried and love each and every one of these products. They are all super gentle and completely free of harsh chemicals that could irritate baby's delicate skin. Burt's Bees uses natural, plant based ingredients that are not only soothing, but pampering, too! Not to mention, they all smell wonderful. Yes, that sounds trivial, but I am big on "smell good stuff", and I only use products that make me and my children smell yummy!

I'd like to tell you a bit about my experiences with a few of the products included in this kit. First, I have to say that the Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash is one of my all-time favorites. It is gentle, tear-free, and lathers beautifully. It leaves my babies' skin and hair velvety soft, and is never irritating. It also has a light, refreshing herbal scent that I love. If there was a perfume with this very scent, I would buy it by the case!

I also love the Baby Bee Diaper Ointment. My son Xander has sensitive skin, and is prone to occasional rashes. Since we use cloth diapers a good amount of the time, I have had very little success finding diaper creams that work without destroying our diapers. There are a few that are good, but none compare to Baby Bee. This cream is very thick, and has a pleasant, herbal scent. It actually smells like a wonderful concoction of lavender and rosemary, with other floral accents. This cream clears up rashes FAST. And it doesn't cause my cloth diapers to repel, either! Whenever Xander has a break-out, this is what we use. It's also great for chafing and minor skin irritations in older children and even adults!

The Baby Bee Nourishing Body Oil is also fantastic. I have used this not only on the babies, but on my own skin, too! The smell is sweet and herbal, and it helps lock moisture into even the driest skin. I also found that it's a great way to combat cradle cap. Just a few drops of this miracle in a bottle and a comb eliminates those nasty scales and helps keep baby's scalp hydrated.

Overall, I would absolutely, hands-down, recommend Burt's Bees products. They're safe, all natural, and luxurious. With fresh, herbal aromas and superior performance, these products offer a spa-like feel without the crazy expense. Your baby will be soft, smooth, and absolutely heavenly smelling, and you will have peace of mind knowing they're not being exposed to anything potentially nasty. It's a win-win situation, in my opinion!
