***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** So here we are, just a few short weeks until Christmas. I have to be completely honest...I am totally and completely stressed out, myself! I have the vast majority of our gift shopping taken care of, but I still need to get tons of wrapping paper. That's going to be really expensive, since the kiddos are making out like little bandits this year! Also, I have fallen horribly behind the past couple of weeks, both on things around the house as well as here on the blog. What I thought was a nasty flu ended up being gall-stone induced Pancreatitis, and I spent a week in the hospital, needing emergency surgery. The doctor told me if I had waited even 48 more hours to be seen, I could have died. My levels were so out of whack! Now I am home recovering from my surgery, and I am trying desperately to catch up. So to say I am stressed is a bit of an understatement right now! One way I like to relax and de-stress when things just get too overwhelming is by using aromatherapy. The sense of smell is a very powerful thing, and different scents have been proven to have some wonderful benefits for the body, mind and spirit. One of my favorite supplement manufacturers, Puritan's Pride, offers some fantastic essential oils, and even a Scent Ball to help disperse the scent throughout your living area. I have trusted Puritan's Pride for years when it comes to their vast assortment of dietary supplements, so I couldn't wait to see how their essential oils stacked up. About Puritan's Pride :
Our Review of the Essential Oils and Scent Ball : We received a very nice set of essential oils and a ScentBall to try out for ourselves. I was delighted to see that included were oils specifically meant to help reduce stress and promote rest and relaxation. Lavender is soothing, and has been known to lull me off to sleep on more than a few occasions. With cold and flu season in full swing, the Peppermint and Eucalyptus oils will definitely come in handy. These oils really help clear my sinuses, making it easier to fall and stay asleep. The Wonder Oil has got to be my favorite oil, though. A wonderful fusion of oils, herbs and fruits for the body, Wonder Oil includes a medley of Olive, Sunflower Seed, Wheat Germ, Sweet Almond, Sesame and Jojoba Oils. Enriched with the lively citrus scents of Grapefruit, Lemon and Orange, this scent is clean and invigorating. This versatile formula helps replenish your hair, skin and nails. Use this product as a hot oil treatment for the hair, as a bath oil, or as a hair, body, massage or cuticle oil – its possibilities are limitless! The ScentBall is a great way to take your aromatherapy anywhere you'd like. All you need to do is cover the scent pad with 8-10 drops of the essential oil of your choice. Then all you do it plug it in to a standard wall outlet and prepare to relax and de-stress. Overall, I am definitely enjoying my essential oils from Puritan's Pride. They smell positively fantastic, and a little bit goes a long way. I love laying back with a good book, allowing the aroma of fresh Lavender to whisk me off to dreamland. I would definitely recommend these products to anyone looking for a safe, natural and effective way to unwind during the stressful Holiday season. They would also make the perfect gift for any spa loving ladies out there! How to COnnect : You can check out the awesomeness that is Puritan's Pride on their website. You can also connect on Facebook, on twitter, and on Pinterest to stay on top of their latest products and promotions! Enter to WIN : I am thrilled to announce that one lucky reader will receive an essential oils aromatherapy set of their own!

I do not know very much about this subject yet but am eager to start learning more. I am a firm believer, as I am confident that the natural world includes everything we need to be healthy. I like that essential oils and other natural remedies can offer benefits without all the dangerous side effects of pharmaceuticals

I'm a huge fan of essential oils..I love having lavender for sleeping, and tea tree oil for, oh, well..everything! The lavender is also great for my four-legged kid's fleas! Adding a few drops to a bottle of lemon water (boil quartered lemons, let water sit overnight) works wonders! I also love eucalyptus and peppermint for when I'm feeling stuffy, or peppermint when I'm feeling nauseated or just need a quick pick-me-up!
