(At least it is if you're like me and get an early start to avoid the mad rush of frazzled, last-minute shoppers in December!) For the 2014 Holiday season, I will be featuring tons of great gift ideas for babies, kids, men, women, pets, and even for the person who has everything. We all have some of those on our gift lists, don't we? There will even be loads and loads of chances to win many of the gifts I am featuring. How cool is that?! You can check out my 2014 Holiday Gift Guide at any time from now till Christmas. Make sure to check often, as it will be growing by the day! Today, I want to talk about aches and pains. In my home, these are commonplace, especially when it comes to my husband. In addition to being a major pain in MY rear, the poor guy also suffers from pretty regular back pain. (Okay, so he's only a pain in my butt occasionally!) Anyway, Dan has been working in the automotive field for 20+ years. He is in management now, but he spent many years as a technician. All of that bending, squatting, and reaching has definitely taken its toll on him. He often complains that his back hurts, and has taken some pretty interesting measures to alleviate that pain. He uses topical pain relief gel, and even bribes the kids with candy to walk on his back. This year, I wanted to give him some real relief from his back pain, while sparing my kids from being mini-chiropractors. Thankfully, I knew just where to turn. The folks at HoMedics specialize in creating a healthy home environment so you can relax, de-stress, and simplify your life. While they're best known for their Ah-MAY-zing massage products, they also offer air quality products, sleep and fitness aids, and more! The awesome folks at HoMedics sent us their best-selling,Triple Shiatsu Massage Cushion with Heat to check out for ourselves. When it arrived, Dan couldn't wait to get it out and see how it helped relieve the stress in his body. Before I get into our experience with this product, let me tell you about the features that make this at-home massage cushion a must-have:
Once we removed this cushion from the package, the first thing I noticed was how incredibly well-made it is. The fabric is nice and durable, and can definitely stand up to regular use. That's right! Nothing flimsy here! This cushion comes with built-in, ultra-stretchy straps so you can secure it to many different chairs. Sadly, it won't secure to our oversized recliner, which is where Dan likes to use it. The good news? It works perfectly just layed onto the chair. Strapping it on hasn't been necessary. Housed inside of the cushion are deep kneading Shiatsu nodes. These are how the magic happens. You see, thanks to the 3D Full Contour Technology, this cushion gives you a complete massage experience unlike anything you've ever experienced in the comfort of your own home. (Unless, of course, you have a professional masseuse that visits. If that's the case, I am totally jealous!) The massage nodes are multi-directional. They move up and down, across, and inward and outward, giving one of the most complete massage experiences available on the market. You will feel relief in muscles you didn't even know you HAD with this massager! The HoMedics Triple Shiatsu Massage Cushion is easy to operate, too! It comes with this handy remote that controls everything. You can choose whether you'd like a light massage, or a more intense, deep-tissue massage. You can try the demo mode, which cycles through several different massage actions, or you can even choose to add soothing heat, to soothe extra tired muscles. Dan has been using this massage cushion daily since it arrived, and he has noticed some amazing improvements in his overall back and muscle pain. For one, just a few minutes in this heated massage cushion loosens up tense, achy muscles, eliminating his aches and pains. He literally sits back, turns on the heat and massage nodes, and relaxes. Usually with our kitty, Pringles, sitting behind him. It's funny to watch him as this cushion works its magic on his back. He makes these faces...I won't go into too much detail, but these are faces I don't normally see outside of the bedroom. Basically, I am about 1,000,000% certain that the massaging action feels good for those with back pain. Or those without. Seriously. This cushion is amazing! Another big plus is that since he uses it daily after getting home from work, he wakes up free of back pain. This is a HUGE deal for us. Before trying the HoMedics Triple Shiatsu Massage Cushion, Dan would wake up with his back feeling tense and achy. This is no way to start what will end up being a 12 hour work day. Now, he wakes up ready to start the day, free of his usual aches and pains. It's truly amazing what some heated massage therapy can do! If you're looking for a truly luxurious gift for someone in your life who could use a nice massage, definitely check out what HoMedics has to offer. Thanks to this wonderful at home massage technology, stress relief comes at the simple touch of a button. Connect With Homedics : You can check out the awesomeness that is HoMedics on their website. I use a heating pad when my back is sore. That, or heat rub. And I try to do a bit of stretching to loosen the muscles.
